Well you have stuff like Spiegelau that makes the IPA glass without branding, with DFH branding, and with SN branding, along with the Stout glass for Rogue and Left Hand. So there are a few glass manufacturers that collaborate with breweries to do unique things like that.

I can only speak for myself but I was in no way decrying having proper beer glassware. Just poking fun at those who make sure to let everyone know about theirs.

Last week I spent a night in a hotel and brought myself a Bell's Cream Stout, Old Rasputin and a Ten Fidy. I put them in the ice bucket and enjoyed them out of a glass that was in the room.

A lot of these forums are all about the beer ****. Some may want to jump right into the hop profile, but it doesn't hurt to pause and admire the glassware first.

The bragging isn't about the actual glass, it's about the name printed on the glass. Would the beer taste worse if the same glass were unprinted?

Kind of a negative way to look at things since you never really know the intent of the author. Naming the glassware is pretty common and hardly something to brag about.

Sooooo.... As long as a cool brewery name is on long stemmed glassware, drinking beer out of long stemmed glassware is cool????

It's like wearing soccer jerseys here in Europe; you just show what team (or in this case, brewery) you support. Subtle and in a way fun "product placement", in other words.

I don't think water will do the trick...eyebleach is needed.

Yes, but only if it's a cool beer and you're wearing a cool hat with a cool logo while you drink it... and you're not holding it with your little finger sticking out. That ain't cool. If any of those things aren't in place then no, I would have to say it's not cool.
