Same here. Stone bottles make great drinking glasses/candle holders/pencil holders/whatever.... I also reuse my bottles (mostly 22oz) for homebrews.

Neat! Would love to see a pic or two of the glasses you've made.

I'll save the one's from Stone, my long term project is cutting them down for glasses.

We live in a pretty small town. I bring all my containers to our local Boy Scout troop that sorts and brings everything to a redemption center once a month. Its been two years since any of my sons were in the troop, but they used to tell me that all their scout friends knew which batches were from our house......"beers they never heard of and a wide variety in every batch".

Unfortunately I had to put them into storage for a little while when I moved across the country, but I'm sure they'll pop up in a, 'what are you drinking now' thread at some point.
My favourite so far is probably the one from 'Secession,' a CDA from HUB. Cascadia!!

Town picks up recycling for free. I tried to make drinking glasses out of bombers once. Didn't work out well. I will try again. Perhaps right now.....

I save four pack holders as I like to give away home brew at Christmas. I used to give away six packs, but I went through them too quick.

I've been saving all my Surly cans so eventually I can cut out the logos and make a metal collage out of them. BEER ART

Thanks for the implied offer. I have a Wisconsin connection already who can get me the Tart, it's just a matter of getting my finances in place first. Also, the Wisconsin Belgian Red seems to be the tricky one to track down.

12 oz-ers and 750's I take back to the store for the deposit fee (when 9 times out of 10 goes back into more beer.)
Bombers I normally save for hombrewing.
I do keep some intersting or special ones for display purposes (need more room for that one of these days)

Do you have a link to making glasses out of the old bottles? How do you do it, with a glass cutter or with string, kerosene and fire?

"I think you'll like what I've listed here! Wash them thoroughly and use them to store and dispense liquids in kitchen. You might require bottle stoppers and corks. You can store ketchup, vinegar oils, liquid soaps, and other liquids in beer bottles. (I use used beer bottles this way!) Cut off the tops of the bottles (be careful here!), decorate them with glitter or fabric and use them as candle holders. If you wish to recycle, find out about local curbside programs that accept glass bottles for recycling and pay you in return. And its not just glass, but aim to recycle and reuse metal, plastic and other things from everyday life. I cleaned out the garage and attic last week and hauled down a truckload of metal pieces to the SIMS scrap metal recycling facility. So if you have any metal to be sold as scrap, look up http://us.simsmm.com/. They have centers in major US cities, so you can visit the one nearest to you to get a fair deal on your metal scrap!"

I ship out all my empties as extras in trades. Haven't heard any complaints and haven't been the focus of a bad trader thread which means I must be doing it right.

    SCIENCE!!!!

I keep anything rarish and out of distro for me. Everything else gets tossed in the recycling bin unless my homebrew buddies need bottles.

I'm going to guess that 100% of the Michigan BAs will respond that we take them back for our 10 cent deposit. However, I also strip some bombers for the label, and I strip some longnecks for the label as well as to reuse for homebrew. None go to the landfill.

Yard sale??? All proceeds in support of your better beer fund?

Been accumulating the half liter bottles for home brew lately. The rest go to a local VFW drop at the store I frequent.
