I was reading up on NY breweries and found a website for it. Sounds really interesting. I might drive out there next week, if I do I will post you am update.
I ended up staying just down the road from his tasting room last July which is just a small room with a counter, a few taps and a couple of tables. Basically, it felt like an accomplished homebrewer serving up his brews. There were maybe 6-8 people in there with us and he had trouble keeping up as he was light on glassware, etc. It didn't bother us as we had nowhere else to be. This was last July and he had just opened up the room so it might run more smoothly now. Overall, it was a good experience and all of the beers were decent. The stout was really good and got a growler of it.
I stopped by on Saturday to get a sample flight and hopefully grab some liquid for a Mem Day party. I got to try a Kolsch, Red Ale, Farmhouse, Bitter, Pale Ale, Coffee Oatmeal Stout, and a Maple Sap Brown. I really enjoyed the coffee oatmeal and the brown. It was fairly quiet with the brewer, the tap man, another guest and I having some friendly conversation and watching some Europeans kick a ball around on tv. After a couple of pints I got some fills and a bottle of Got Your Back Stout and headed out. The party-goers also enjoyed the stout.
Their quality control must have went way up recently. I tried 3 of their bombers about 2 years ago, the Pale Ale, Oatmeal Stout, and one other, and the were all horrible infected drain pours. Seems like they may have gotten some of that under control now, I guess.
I'm in the same boat. Tried all 3 when they first came out with the same results. I've been hearing more and more positive reviews so I'll have to give them another shot.
