Headed to a soccer tourney this weekend in RI, Smithfield and Chepachet.

Any suggestions for a spot to grab lunch? Brewery type atmosphere or even someplace that is a must hit for food if the beer selection isn't great.

Any place to sop at to hunt for some good RI beers? Other than Captains Daughter anything to be on the lookout for.

Not too much I'm aware of in that area, but lots in Providence if willing to head into town. Nikki's and High Spirits are close and my two go to spots. Another good bottle shop is B&C which is not too far from Bryant and outside the city.

A lot of the best RI brews are only available at the breweries, but if you can track down some Proclamation they have some excellent brews. In addition to CD, Grey Sail has an IPL I haven't tried but hear good things about.

I personally haven't been to either of these places but...

I hear Blackie's Bulldog Tavern has some very good food although not a huge craft menu. They are on Washington Highway (Route 116) in Smithfield. For a shop, I hear great reviews about B&C Liquors on Putnam Pike (Route 44) in Smithfield.

Chepachet is a little bit of a drive from Smithfield, the only place I have eaten near there is the Crystal Lake Country Club just over the town line in Burrillville. Had a tasty sandwich and maybe a Harpoon IPA or the like after a round there.

Stevie D's in Cumberland is probably the best craft bar on the way if taking I-295 south.

Unfortunately most of my RI faves lately have been brewery only. But if choosing amongst beers not available in MA, it sounds like Proclamation is sending out a round of Derivative - Galaxy bottles and sometimes you can find Keraterra (farmhouse ale) or Harper I (sour) in stores. Bucket Brewery just started canning and I would recommend the Park Loop Porter if that is your style.

As a graduate of Bryant, I would be remiss to mention it is a University not a College!

B&C is solid if not trying to venture far, but Nikki's is only a 20 minute drive into the city.

Not sure what kind of time you have, but Stevie D's is pretty close to Bryant, as is B&C albeit it in somewhat opposite directions. There's also Natty Greene's in Attleboro which is at the MA end of 295.

Will always be College to me. #classof04

Also, you need a negative after remiss. "I would be remiss to not mention"

B&C is a 10 minute drive if you jump on 295 South from Bryant and take the exit 9A.

Blackies tavern has great food, but the menu is a bit weird, and the service has kind of sucked lately.

The thirsty beaver in Smithfield is a newer place, and their craft beer menu isn't too bad.

Another rec for B&C. Great store! Small but always have something interesting. I got a 3yr old Allagash Oddessy there. It was pretty damn tasty. I was there about 2 weeks ago and they still had Proclamations saison. They also still had Jester King saison. Still don't know why this is the only style to make it to RI.
