I have 50 special beers brought back from Europe aging at room temp 75F. Home A/C died, soon house will be 90F. I know 75F is just faster aging than cellar. But is 90F too hot? Will they be ruined?

Got it. Alright, your only option is coolers/fridge. I get that you're trying to avoid temp cycles, but you just don't have much of a choice here.

Coolers. The cheapo 7-11 kind will do. Keep those babies cool & you're golden. :-)

go buy a large plastic storage box 40 - 80 gallons or so..rubber maid etc (cheaper than a cooler)

    http://www.rubbermaid.com/en-US/storage-boxes

Then go get some ice from the grocery store. 10 - 15 pound bags
Put the bottles in ziploc bags if you don't want the melted ice water to ruin the labels.

Or ship the beers to be and i'll keep them cold for ya.

I was hoping to avoid agitating them. They have been happily sitting in the dark cabinet for 9 months without being touched. I suppose I must move them somewhere.

If you just let them sit for that span of time in that heat they're in trouble anyway. Classic lesser of two evils type deal.

I notice almost all the responders to this thread haven't been on BA all that long. The "my beer got hot!" shows up every summer. In the winter, we get "My beer got cold!"

Not to worry. Do you seriously think your beer stayed the same cellar temperature all the way from Europe to your home? Beer suffers through many temperature fluctuations from the brewery to you and survives quite well, thank you. That temperature isn't going to hurt the beer.

You are likely correct, but 90+ degrees for almost a week just seems like an 'err on the side of caution' type deal since the beers are special to him.

It probably sat in a hot freight depot somewhere between Europe and here, or a hot truck or a hot warehouse. It really won't make a difference. Really.

You'll be fine. Just move them to a dark closet and wait for the AC to be fixed.
