It still surprises me that people get drunk at bars. When I go to bars I have two beers. If I'm gonna get drunk I do it at liquor store prices. I had three beers at a bar yesterday. The bar was in walking distance from my home.

I agree with some of the other posters, most people I've met who are very opinionated about beer are mellow about other peoples' beer tastes.

I guess it's not about finding the perfect one, but finding the perfect one for me! It's funny because I like the journey for the perfect beer much more than actually attaining the perfect beer. And I don't care if I ever find it. That's because its not about finding the ideal flavor, but finding myself through those flavors. I work for a high-end beer bar and I tell our friends that I'm a bit unique in that the taste of something that I've never had before is more interesting to me than drinking something that I know that I like. It's that curiosity that keeps me connected to this craft. It's probably a curiosity that will kill this kevin.

I stopped caring about how other people enjoy beer. Someone could only drink BA Stouts & DIPAs, another guy could think Heineken is great beer, another one could only drink their own home brew and another one could pound 30 packs of Keystone Light. Me? I drink what I want, when I want, in quantities of my own choosing. Freedom is great, aint it?

By definition there can only be one "best" beer (though of course the whole notion of "good" "better" and "best" is entirely a matter of opinion anyway) so life must be pretty hard for such people.
Personally, as long as I enjoy my beer I'm happy. I'm always aware that there's a lot out there that I would enjoy even more but finding these is something to look forward to. The thought of driving for hours just for one particular beer makes me sad ; that's not what beer's all about.

Why do people care what other people think or do? Just enjoy beer the way you want to, whether it is at home in your man cave, at the local bar or if you wanna hop in the family truckster and hit 7 breweries over the weekend. Beer is meant to enhance your life, not overtake your brain.

'Beer Extremists' just do things differently than others. Charlotte has their fair share of people that are at every tasting, every 'whale' release, every brewery party...who cares? Just go about your life and not worry about every other person. Life's too frickin' short. There's enough beer for everybody. Just go check out the fresh by dates on beer at your local bottle shop. Tons of them are old!

If you can't enjoy a perfectly brewed pale ale or pilsner as much as you do a coffee bourbon stout or a sour then you just don't get it.

Do what makes YOU happy with beer. Why you gotta rip on what someone else does? What's the point? People that are easily annoyed suck!

I too have enjoyed plenty of nearly perfect examples of cocaine.
