Last beer festival that I did I went into with a massive hangover, drank the equivalent of about 8 beers, and was fine after a nap. Obviously, everyone's bodies process things differently.

Going to give you the benefit of a doubt and assume there were some high ABV beers in there. So your 48 ounces of beer were not really 4 beers, but very well could have been 8 beers. Or, you could be trolling us.

i still haven't recovered from this year's hunahpocalypse...

in all seriousness, as long as i eat lunch during the fest, chug a bunch of water that evening, and drink a vitaminwater xxx then a yoo-hoo (yes, yoo-hoo) the next morning, i'm ready to drink again.

many of theses alleged beer events are an opportunity for distributors to profit from and unload old or poor selling beers. these are the events I stay away from. though I will say that these particular events are good for a newbie. you can taste all that mediocrity with out paying for full six packs at the bottle shop or what have you. I haven't been to one of these in a long while but if i was to go I would guess I would walk away fairly sober.

the BA events are much better. they invite real craft brewers. artisans if you will. even for a long-time beer drinker like me there' a ton of breweries and beers I haven't tried. I would def have a buzz after one of these events.

there's a great real ale (cask) event in New Haven. very crowded but a good event as far as beers go.
