Is there anyway to prevent beer from freezing during transportation? My buddy just got a box from Portland and all three bottles were frozen and started to leak. I dont know how to prevent this. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Keep it in the back seat instead of the trunk.

I was referring to when boxes are shipped across the country.

Shipping… just wrap them in towels generally to keep them insulated and don't ship if the weather is too cold wait a week and see if it stays above 30

I have wine shippers when I ship and wrap them up to keep insulated. I just had a 4 bottle delivered from Indiana to Missouri and it was definitely below freezing but no problems with the beer

Thank you sir. I will keep that in mind when I am shipping to the Northern portion of the country.

I just got a box today, was below 0 last night, beer appears fine. Used a styrofoam shipper.

Shipped some out this week as well, and used the same styro "cooler" type of shipper as the photo above.

Higher alcohol beers should hold up better than low ones, just something to keep in mind.

as a part of the trade, you can always agree to wait while the weather gets 'better'. In Chicago the weather warmed up this week but it was in the 10's plus the chill factor a week ago.
