I work construction and was remodeling a hospital kitchen. They were throwing out a Beverage Air fridge and I took it home, cleaned it up, and put my 80+ beers in there to cellar. It has a temp control and I was super happy when all my beer was finally aging at 55°. Two weeks later, I came home to find the fridge was not working and at 100°. I had some Cantillon, Westy's, Firestone Annis, etc...Super downer.

Should I consider my beers gonners, or do you guys think they can recover? I know they are not supposed to get that hot, but can they survive it? They must've been at that temp for maybe 4-5 hrs...I've since moved them back to my closet

    They're fine.

You should probably do more research on cellaring and determine what you're really trying to get out of it.

How in the world did the inside of a fridge get that hot?

You sped up the aging process probably, better drink em now, for science.

No chance they made it. Send them to me, for proper recycling and disposal.

    For science, I'll drink 'em.

The fridge had messed up and started blowing out hot air. It pretty much became a sauna.

Sounds like there's going to be an awesome party at your place.

4-5 hours at that temp probably did minimal damage...you are fine.
