It is a small bar fridge that does not consume enough energy to even worry about. All new fridges are energy efficient anyway. Maybe if you look at the specs on the manufacturer's web site you can find the exact energy consumption information; I really have no idea what it is.

As for the price, it is fairly expensive. I really don't recall what I paid for it, but I think the sticker price is around $900. We bought all of our appliances together and negotiated a bundle price so I don't recall what I actually paid for it. It is not worth the price tag unless you are going to put it in your kitchen or another area in your house where it will be visible and you want it to look good. If you are just looking for a fridge to store beer in your basement or garage, you can find much cheaper alternatives that aren't stainless steel.

I'm actually considering turning a corner of my basement into a beer cellar. I'm build a doorway and that area would likely remain cool due to lack of/minimal amount of heating in the winter. it would stay cool in the summer due to it being a basement. Just not sure about humidity (i'd replace the drywall with mold-proof drywall and then build rows of shelves for storage).

This is the best conversation I've ever read.

All I can add is, don't get one that has that little freezer at the top. It just takes up space and energy. My shelves take the bottles, the door takes the cans.

    Hi Relic,

I wasn't planning to. I'm in the process of buying a new home and depending on the kitchen layout i wanted to have some options and see what other BA members were using. Looking at what was said in this thread will help a lot.

I've just got a regular, 6ft all refrigerator with tempered glass shelves. Think the shelves are rated to hold 100lbs or so. Thermostat is turned way down, the symbol before 1 and it holds a steady 50f/10c. I've had roughly 200+ bottles crammed in at a few points in time. All for about $150.00 of craigslist a few years back.

Alright guys, went shopping for fridges this weekend. Wanted to share my findings. The Germain Lariviere stores (Montreal area) have a few options. Here are some pics. Price point between 950 and 1200$

Best look, best overall, 1079$, plenty of shelves, can't quite fit 3 x 750ml side by side like most fridges this size.

Another option, 1199$, glass shelf on the right, would need to create some for the left side.

Cheapest 949$, no shelf for putting beers upright.
