I am looking for a rigid case that I can put a beer glass in (preferably a Teku glass), so that I can keep it protected inside my checked luggage. I've been looking through the offerings at Pelican and other case vendors, and none seem well sized: most of them are flat and wide. Does anyone know of a vendor that makes an appropriately sized case? Someone I know suggested using a length of PVC pipe, but I'm concerned that might throw the TSA into a tizzy.

Help me BA, you're my only hope.

You probably could have someone make you a wood case with a hinged door on it - that would protect the glass and could be made to your exact specifications. In side, there could be some foam or something to slide the glass into for secure holding.

Just ship it and buy one wherever your going.

Your really willing to spend $100+ to keep a glass safe? Shipping will be well under $10.

Wish I had that kind of cash.

    Enjoy

Depending on how often he travels, the investment might be worth it for him. Even if he traveled just once a month it would pay for itself in less than a year ...

Very true. Was thinking a one time thing. Either way I would be fine drinking from whatever is available, regardless of my monetary situation.

    Enjoy

Does someone make a rigid shoe box you could put high density foam in?

I think you should just get this because you could put in your teku, a snifter, a willi becher, a belgian tulip, and any other glasses you may need when than perfect beer comes up.

Harbor Freight sells knock off hard cases in various sizes and the are actually padded and decently sturdy. Personally, I'd start there. But if you want something custom, give me a holler. Or a PM. :-)

    Link if it works:

Oh for sure! When I'm traveling I just use whatever glass/cup is available in the hotel room, but to each their own.

Looking at the Pelican site, there's smaller ones available, like this
    https://www.buycasesforless.com/p-12272-pelican-1120-case.aspx
    for $31.
Or, there's those novelty painted wine glasses, maybe getting one of those, tossing the glass, and wrapping the Teku in bubble wrap or foam would work, No need to put it in checked luggage, TSA will see it;s a glass and assume it's a gift or something.
But honestly, where would the OP be going that he NEEDS to have his own (Teku, no less) glass with him?
Really, there;s glasses in hotel rooms, or bars / breweries have their own...
I've been a drinker for a long time, and I haven't seen a beer that is that drastically improved by a choice of glassware that it inspires me to bring my own.

Go to a thrift store and look for a Designs By Lolita wine or beer glass in the original box. Stuff your glass with paper towels, wrap it in enough bubble wrap so that it fits tightly inside the box, and Bob's yer uncle.

I've found several of these glasses in the original boxes in the thrift stores around here for $5 or less. The box is cylindrical and quite sturdy. And you'll have a nice decorated beer or wine glass waiting for you when you get back home!

Know anyone with a Goose Island Bourbon County Rare from 2015? That box might be perfect.

Save yourself some $. Go to Walmart. By a sheet of foam in the sewing section. Cut three pieces 3 -4 inches bigger than the height/width of the glass. Cut the outline of the glass in one of the three pieces and put the glass inside/sandwich the other pieces around it and secure w rubber bands. Viola - a $3 hard case.

Yup, this. You can go the extra step and get some high density foam, and cut it to fit the case and glass.

You wouldn't need a case if you had a Teku made out of titanium. Just toss it in the luggage.

A Teku is indispensable for drinking enjoyment while travelling? Who knew?

I did... sort of. I always take a Glencairn glass and a snulip on road trips. (Which explains why I was making mint juleps in motel plasticware in Louisiana earlier this summer.)
