I've got the Dogfish Logo etched in the bottom of the signature glass, as well as the signature "D" in the Duvel glass but never really get the image projected in the beer..Only a dull outline usually.. Anyone have any etching images really pop out in the head of their beer or are the etchings mostly decorative?

I'm not an expert or anything, but I think 'etching' is supposed to serve as a nucleation point for the bubbles and promote a long lasting head and visual effervescence more so than project an image into the beer. Never heard of that actually...

I often see the outline of the dogfish head logo when I drink out of my glass. I agree with FeDUBBELFIST, it wasn't intended to create the image in the head, it happens to create it by the bubbles streaming in that certain pattern.

I have pint glasses that are etched and then I have some that look like they literally have been CARVED out.
Snake River Brewing was the first one i got like that . It is in so much relief a blind man could read it !!
They few I have are truly cool in every sense ! I know it is a tad bit off topic but had to get it out there. Kinda wonder who does that amazing work to the glasses

A bit off topic but one of the coolest etchings can be found at the bottom of the Delirium Tremens tulips.
