So i know that there are certain types of glasses for certain types of beers and I have seen how well this website and others explain it and all that but I have been drinking pretty much all of my good beers out of big wine glasses (stemless - but i dont think that makes a difference other than it feels less weird to me) and I think it enhances the taste more than any other glass regardless of style. Does anyone else have a preferred glass style or anything that they use for all or most beers? I might prefer the stemless because it really seems like the shape of the glass puts the smell of the beer focused right at your nose and i have a sub par sense of smell...i dont know just thought I would see what others out there think.

    Thanks!

Tulips for anything Belgian, sour or barrel-aged.
Pints for IPAs.. Unless it's 3 Floyds.. then I'll use my Teku.

That's the extend of my beer glass usage.

I collect glasses, but only drink out of them if I'm taking a picture for a review of my blog. I invested in a Spiegelau set last year, 6 different types of glasses & the Brussels style snifter they offer is the best glass ever.

I think all anyone really needs is:
    - pint glass: IPA, APA, general lagers, low ABV stouts, American wheat beers, wits, etc.
    - weizen glass: German wheat beers (hefeweizen, dunkelweizen, weizenbock, etc.)
    - tulip: stouts, Belgians, sours, high ABV beers

    No need to go overboard.

You all are right on the money, and/or a Ball Pint Jar :grinning:

A tulip/snifter can pretty much be used for anything. I use it for all the dark/Belgian stuff but have used it for IPAs many times. I use a Sam Adams perfect pint or a nonic pint for everything else. I have a variety of random glassware I've acquired over the years, but a good tulip and a good pint is really all you need

Yeah I sometimes drink IPAs from my snifter, but generally only if they are high ABV ones.

Like Founders All Day IPA I would have in a pint glass, but I'll drink DFH 90min from a snifter.

That seems unnecessarily expensive. It can't do anything my Duvel tulip can't do

[IMG] Sierra Nevada/Dogfish Head collab, best IPA/DIPA/Pale/almost anything, glass I have ever had. They make 2, one with the Dogfish logo and one with the SN logo.

Do you drive anything more than $15,000 car?

For that cost, I'd want more than just the glass hand blown...

Do you mind showing me where you purchased this set? I'm only seeing a 4 set on amazon.

What is this "pint glass" many of you have mentioned?

It's what we used to drink craft beer out of in the olden days.

You can get them without the logos as well over on Amazon.

I just got these recently and after doing a side by side comparison with a normal pint glass with Sculpin IPA, I can definitely say the Spiegelau added more character to the bouquet and the taste.
