Brooklyn Dark choclate stout? is that the darker version of the black choc stout that has ZERO choc flaover?

and seriously, if there is a BDCS can i get some to try?

    Welcome to the forums!!

ps, id go with Conroe's own Buried Hatchet over Ten fidy any day esp for the price per oz.

pps. If you can get your hands on Santa Fe Brewing's Imperial Java Stout, and if you cant id be amazed, for the price per oz it cannot be beat. 10 bucks for a sixxer, who does that!! lol

    again, welcome to the forums!!!

I don't consider Buried Hatchet and Ten Fidy to be comparable in style or flavor profile. From the recommendations here, it totally caught me off guard the first time I ordered it and thought the waitress gave me the wrong beer :stuck_out_tongue:. If price is a concern, I'd definitely go with Old Raspy or Brooklyn BCS (at least in DFW both are as cheap/cheaper than Buried Hatchet).

And now I kinda want a Brooklyn Dark Chocolate Stout. 70/30 Sam Smith's Choc Stout + Brooklyn BCS?

The Ten Fidy was great. It was pretty strong. Definitely one that I would drink slowly. Price was somewhat high at $15 for 4 cans. Wasn't a huge fan of the Punkin, which surprises me because I love pumpkin pie. It was definitely drinkable but I didn't find it very enjoyable. I still liked it more than the Punkel, which was more bitter. Maybe pumpkin beer isn't my style. I was hoping for it to be slightly sweeter.

You need to look for Pumpkinator and/or Warlock once it is out. Great pumpkin flavors, the wasatch pumpkin is also one of my go to pumpkin beers.

Oops, I meant Black Chocolate Stout. Thanks for those recommendations. I'll have to try some of that Buried Hatchet. My Specs shows that it's in stock. It's showing the Dallas Specs might have some of the Imperial Java Stout.

Agreed. I have come to the fact i dont love pumpkin beers but i do enjoy them and the wasatch is my top choice (although the whole hog pumpkin is right there too).

Oh, and Southern Tier Pumking is, not ironically at all, the king of the pumpkin ales. My opinion, of course.

This years. Their website says October, but the Ft. Worth Specs by me got a bunch of it in. Only like $8 for a 4 pack.

I should try that after my weird shifts end. I wonder what the over/under is on me ending up shirtless and in the street.

Just tried the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, and wow, it tastes great, and nice price point. I'll be going through a lot of it this fall/winter.

Drinking a 4 pack of Ten Fidy or winding up shirtless in the street?
Its a great beer. I really enjoy it. I will buy appropriate amounts of it. Also it tends to stick around for several months.

Whoever said Sante Fe Imperial Java Stout is right on. I can't count how many sixers of that I bought last winter. Such a great beer. Not sure if you guys in DFW ever get Austin Beerworks stuff, but the Sputnik is phenomenal, easily the best local fall/winter seasonal. I'm so glad its gonna be back soon. Real Ale's Coffee Porter is another standout that comes to mind. Ranger Creek OPA is also solid, but again, not sure on distro there. If you come to Austin soon, you can taste the awesomeness that is La Tortuga (barrel-aged baltic porter) from Hops and Grain.
