How do you know whether the next person isn't going to clear them out if you only take two and leave four?

If you feel guilty about this you are an extremely big hearted person! Good to you for leaving some

Just buy what you want, and however much you want. It's your money, and in the end, it's just fucking beer, not life saving drugs.

I'm all for leaving something rare on the shelf for another guy behind me in line to get excited about just like I did, but no reason to wonder how good it would have been to have an extra bottle or two to have at another point down the road.

Then there's the other side of the coin, where some asshat buys all they can to humblebrag about what whales they have, and will never drink. They sit on them, and try and trade them like their gold nuggets and worth millions. It's a bottle of perishable beer. Drink it.

I hoard as much beer as I actually drink. Probably more. Its the bane of my wife's existence.

Hoarding beer is a horrible thing to do! Unless, of course, it's Parabola.

I bought almost case, since I live in an area that gets a bunch. I have a bottle or two for myself. Most went to some friends or trading partners who live in area's that weren't so lucky. That being said I spread it out about a week or so to give everyone an opportunity to buy it.

You took some, you left some.
I'm sure you drink one or two, share another and trade what's left.
If there is someone out there that really wants it and has something you'd like, they'll be happy to get it.

And you are a regular(?) customer to the store and they sold a case of Parabola pretty easily.

Running around chasing beer trucks, dropping a couple days pay on beer everytime a new release happens, their biggest achievement in life is securing a case of KBS,and proudly displaying pictures of their ingenuity in amassing all this beer that their neighbors cant try, thats what America is now all about,

I'm with you. The only time I considered my behavior hoarding was when there was 9 bottles of my fav wale left in a store (shockingly, it was there for a month!) and I bought up 8 of them. I also felt super guilty... then again, it WAS there for a month, and I still left 1 bottle behind.

Other than that, I never take more than 2 of something rare (ex. parabola and sucaba). One for me, and one for my beer buddy.... he gets one of all my fav goodies.

If it was there for a month, then you shouldn't have felt any sort of guilty, much less super guilty. Definitely fair game at that point. Drink it, enjoy it- that's what it was made for. It's totally different than if it was the first week of a release and you nearly cleaned them out before anybody else had a shot; and I bet the store was happy that those beers finally moved.

Something that won't go bad and you really love, I feel like you should have as much as you want. So many people hoarded King Henry, and it's just that great of a beer. I have a slight problem with people having so big of a cellar that they forget about some of the beer they have, and it isn't nearly as good as it was when it was fresh. That's a waste.

On my last beer run, I bought all 23 bottles of St. Bernardus Christmas Ale that was left. I'd been talking with the owner of the store, after some haggling we settled on a price, and I bought every bottle he had left. It's as good a beer as I've ever hard and I don't feel one bit bad about it.

give yourself some credit. you put others ahead of yourself by leaving some bottles for whoever walks in and sees them next. sounds pretty ethical to me!
