Haha, well, I meant in other areas of my life. Like sometimes I go to the movies and sneak into a second movie (without having paid for it) (to which my sister, who works in Hollywood, says it's ok). I'm also very cynical and quite judgemental by nature - not exactly "unethical" qualities, but still. I do leave a healthy tip when dining out, hold the door/elevator when I see someone coming, and let people cut in, in traffic. So I guess it all evens out .

Someday I hope to understand how getting cash is any worse than converting it into beer which is what lets be honest, I'd use the cash for anyway.

On limited stuff, I'll usually buy 2 and then go back next week and if they still have it, buy 1 or 2 more. After about a month if it's still there, I feel like it's fair game to buy as many as I want.

For most beers that can age I will be 1-4, 1-2 to drink and the rest to

It's only hoarding if you sit in a dark room and drink alone. Who doesn't share a few with friends? that's half the point of having a beer!

Why do so many people feel it is righteous to buy the whole stock of a limited release beer as long as they are trading some of it?
I could care less if you buy it all, just wondering about the reasoning behind it.

I think that their are some hypocrites on here  theirs a reason why most awesome beers have to be traded for.

I found another case of Boulevard Saison-Brett today, open for trades.

I hoard toilet paper at Costco too.
Look, if you're going to drink it or share it, buy all you think you need and can afford. Breweries are in this game to sell beer. They'll make more.

i went into whole foods yesterday and asked about parabola, the main guy who handles all the shipments etc pretty much told me someone came in and bought 6 bottles. i was pretty bummed about it, i've been shopping there for a while now (a few years) while i feel like im pretty cool with the guy since we talk about beer for a good 40mins (sometimes even longer) even if i come in just to pick up something simple, i just cant figure out why he never hooks it up for me. im getting pretty tired of it honestly, at this point if i wanna go out of my way to get something like parabola, kbs etc i just go to new york. im only 30mins outside of manhattan so its not so bad plus i love going to bars in the city so its win win.

I think you need to find a smaller store.
You'll have a better chance of getting a hook up there.

yeah i frequent a few stores in my area (bergen county) but i feel like it doesn't even matter anymore, while im really cool with a lot of these guys that work at the stores....there is a ton of people that probably do the same thing. i don't think they care if you go in and buy a more than generous amount....or if i ask in advance about certain releases. i feel like this is the main reason why people start to trade too, because maybe they got to the point where they realized its not worth going out of the way or bending over backwards to get certain beers, since people in other states can probably get it a lot easier

Don't feel bad, pick up as much good beer as you can. As a shop owner, We hate to put limits on things, and try not to unless we have to. (IE lunch, EnjoyBy, parabola,120 ) other times, we just let loose ie nugget nectar. When we only get 2 cases of something in, weI think of it like this, make 4-8 ppl's day, or 12-24.

At any rate, if they didn't say anything, go for it.

I'm in Bergen as well. It has been tough as hell getting anything limited lately. I was lucky and got hooked up with a bottle of this years Parabola (along with 2 aged bottles) One of my guys pulled it out of the back for me.
When I was checking out the owner commented that he thought one guy had gotten all of them.

It's sad that there are so many bottles of Parabola and yet someone feels guilty about buying 4 of them.

don't be a dick if you obviously have more disposable income than the next guy, but then again, beer is meant for enjoying so buy what you need to buy to be happy. Dont overthink it. If you are buying so much that you question what you are doing as you approach the register, then yeah, you may be buying one too many.

Are there? I'm a little confused about the Parabola distro. They made the same amount as Sucaba, yet I've seen Sucaba still on shelves at a few retailers in MA while Parabola was gone within the first week. I think Parabola is the "better" beer bit it seems as if we got a much smaller allocation of Parabola
