Summer Giants trip and interested in what local beers are available inside the park and which taprooms/breweries are within walking distance of Oracle. Three days, lyft and Uber savvy and no sours please. Staying at the Marquee. Thanks.
I was there about six years ago and walked into the stadium with a Blind Pig purchased at Public House.
Local Brewing is only a couple blocks from the park. I've walked from Cellarmaker in the past and that would only be a couple minutes in an Uber. Public House for Blind Pig to take into the stadium with you.
If you’re talking about the Marriott marquis on mission, been a few years since I’ve been in there but they used to always have Pliny on tap in the hotel bar. Definitely hit up cellarmaker and also mikkeller is walking distance to the Marquis. And as mentioned, Public House is your spot pregame and you can actually go in and out of there during the game and bring quality beers back into the stadium to your seats.
Last year there were moonraker cans available in the club level and the garden bar. More expensive than most pours at Public House, but may be more convenient during the game depending on where your seats are
Black Hammer is about 5-6 blocks away from the ballpark. Well worth a visit. Cellarmaker is not a short walk (a mile or so), but is a must go. 21st Amendment is more of a restaurant than a taproom and gets very crowded on game day. Mikkeller is even farther away than Cellarmaker, close to 2 miles, and you need to work through neighborhoods that are the bane of SF. I'd only Uber/Lyft there, but they have a great beer selection.
I don't know if they still do it, but when I was last at AT&T er... Oracle Park... the stadium itself sold Moonraker cans at 3 specific locations. Only one of them was accessible by non-box ticketholders though. https://www.sfgate.com/food/article/Did-AT-T-Park-just-become-the-best-ballpark-in-12979078.php
Good info! I have never heard of Black Hammer and will definitely hit it up. Tap list looks good . Any restaurant suggestions?
As for restaurants near Oracle Park, I'm not a city local - so I'll leave it to the real locals. And, or course, it depends on what type of food you are looking for and your budget (SF ain't cheap). If you do make it to Mikkeller, they have very good food.
Another place that's ~1.5 miles away is Fort Point, which is located in the Ferry Building (I would describe their beers as ok, nothing special but not god awful). There you can also go around and look at the food offerings.
I've never found anything at Black Hammer, 21st, or Local to be all that good. I'd stick to Public House and Cellarmaker. Public House will let you take in 2 drinks at a time so grab something dark and let it warm up while you drink your Pig
