I'll be in Breckenridge in about a month for an extended weekend and was wondering what to expect beer-wise. Does the local liquor store have a decent selection? What are the best places to get both food and drink? Thanks!
Check out Backcountry Brewery in Frisco, and if you are into Bourbon, definitely seek out the Breckenridge Distillery.
Thanks! The local store won't have Russian River, right? I read reviews on here that said it does but they were 4+ years ago, I think.
smoke the weed appropriately sold right above the spice shop. Am I missing the obvious? Breckenridge Brewery. Standard line-up plus 1 or 2 special taps. I had some sort of sour blueberry porter that was really good. Food is also good. I stayed at Main Street Station and hit Skee Vue Liquors. Decent craft beer selection with reasonable prices. I got some Yetis and Sucks IIRC.
Grab some bottles or a growler/pig at Backcountry in Frisco, right next door to Breck. They're one of the best breweries in the whole state and from the source...oh man, it doesn't get much better. Prost, just up the street, also gets rave reviews.
I figured we'd definitely stop into Breckenridge Brewing, but I've never been a huge fan of their core lineup that we get here in Nebraska. We'll be there for a couple of days so I'm pretty sure we'll be able to hit up all of the suggested spots.
Broken Compass Brewing in Breck is pretty solid all around. I don't think they have any food options though.
Have to echo this. Much better beer than Breckenridge and a cool vibe. No food offered there though and its not in the middle of town.
Apres on Main St. has a very solid selection, but no food that I know of. Oscar's (also on Main St.) serves food and opened a new tap room recently. They were still trying to finalize their permitting last we visited, but the tap handles were up and looked promising.
Hey Coopington, Here is some recommendations from the Elevation Crew, Check out: Ritas (beer bar and great tacos tacos) Apres (beer bar, lots of taps) Kensosha Steakhouse (beer bar and pub food) Breckenridge Brew Pub (Brewery) City Liquors (Liquor store) Broken Compass (Brewery) Antlers Liquor (Frisco liquor store) Backcountry (Frisco, brewery) Ollies (Skier bar) Relish (High end bar, great food, and Occasionally RR) Canteen Tap House (Pub) Park Avenue Pub (Pub) There are tons more. Cheers. The Elevation Team.
They might, stuff tends to sit longer up there but I don't know how much longer. We recently got a small shipment of Consecration that hit town, so it may still be up there, who knows.
