Going to Charlotte, NC, next week for a horror convention. I've been to Salud beer shop before but other than that, I'm not too familiar with the beer scene down there. Any good restaurants or bars for beer? Or any other bottle shops? Also, is there any beers I should be keeping a look out for while I'm there? Any help would be great!

    Thanks

Salud is top notch. As is Good Bottle Co. Salud is the NoDa district. You should make an effort to stop by NoDa Brewery. Across the parking lot is Birdsong, another good spot. Unknown Brewery just recently opened their doors and I'm hearing great things about them. There are several other breweries all nearby but beers are hit or miss.

NoDa is canning Hop Drop n Roll (recently added to the BA Top 50 IPAs list) and is one of my favorite IPAs overall. Their Jam Session Pale Ale is also pretty good.

Wicked Weed just released their Serenity bottles if there are any left.

As for bottles to pick up, NC doesn't have that much of a different distro from VA. You may still be able to find an Event Horizon from Olde Hickory or their Imperial Stout. They have a couple decent IPAs too; Death by Hops and Redeemer. If you are able to find Beard Envy from Red Brick, I highly recommend that. SKA Brewing Modus Hoperandi is pretty good. As is their Ephoria Pale Ale and Vinifera Stout. Sweetwater has a couple good brews.

Make sure you hit Brawley's! Definitely check out NoDa, Birdsong, 3C, and if you like traditional German beers stop by OMB
