Howdy my barefoot redneck brethren of this great state of ours! Who am I kidding, neck beards country wide we're all the same in that we wanna make sure when we go somewhere we're drinking good beer- and well hell, my in-laws are up this way, and since I'm coming from Texas I'll be bringing good beer to drink and share and trade just to put up with em. Two main questions- I typically bike the Mt. Pinnacle State Park area and surrounding trails, as well as the Big Damn Bridge and Arkansas River to Downtown Little Rock. Thursday looks like it's gonna be one fine day, hopefully I'll be able to find some establishments that can serve me a sarsaparilla or 2 and some good beer- if one were to be looking for said establishment, what might be its name? And finally, anyone got some BDCS they'd like to open with me or trade me? Shoot me a message and we can discuss that privately, otherwise thank ya'll in advance for the advice and pointers.
[Imagine dueling banjos playing in the background as you read this.] I am no expert on LR, nor do I work for the LR chamber of commerce, but here's what I know. Lost Forty is a cool place with good beers. It's also down the street from Rock Town distillery which is worth visiting. Stones Throw is not too far from those two. Diamond Bear is in NLR and is also a neat place. Colonial Wine and Spirits is a nice liquor store with a growler filling station that almost always has some stuff on tap that blows my mind. Woo pig sooie.
Definitely Lost Forty; they are making the best beer in Little Rock (get the Cabernet barrel stout), and their food is awesome. Flyway Brewing just opened up in Argenta (just across the river from LR). If you're out on the west side by Pinnacle, there is a great new shop on Chenal called Legacy Wine and Spirits. Good luck with the BDCS, I think it's coming out again in a couple months, and Ozark just arrived in Little Rock. I hope we see it this time!
"Howdy my barefoot redneck brethren of this great state of ours!" -- Really? And you want to connect with us?
Hello Little Rock! My wife and I just bought a house on the west side. I haven't seen it yet, but my wife checked it out and said it was nice. We are moving from Virginia at the end of February. Coming from Northern Virginia I've been very lucky on distribution of great beers. I'm a little nervous about what I'm going to find in LR. A few people told my wife the scene is good and getting better everyday. How's the distribution from outside the state (I see Bells is set to come) and how's the local scene? Any Virginia beers I can try to cram in my car for anyone when I come???
Welcome to Arkansas! If you are moving to West Little Rock, you will be close to a great bottle shop (Colonial). The beer scene is not what it is in some other places, say Denver or Asheville, but its ok and growing. We are getting more and more great beers every year. Diamond Bear, Lost 40 and a few other local Breweries are growing and making decent beer. The Flying Saucer in down town LR is a great bar, with 200+ beers. They recently tapped such things as BA Tenfidy and Goose Island BCBS. PM me when you get moved in and settled and I'll buy ya a beer!
Welcome! I love how the scene here is growing; it's an exciting time for beer geeks in central AR. You bringing any Lickinghole Creek and DC Brau? Edit: I know I told you in a PM, but I figured I'd add it here in case anyone stumbles on this thread after a search. Legacy Wine and Spirits is in West Little Rock on Chenal. It is a beautiful new building with a massive selection and a 16 tap growler station.
BDCS isn't going to release until later this month and I'd be shocked it if made it down to LR. It may or may not even make NWA distro.
Howdy neighbor. The new BDCS will be out in about 3 weeks. I live less than a mile from the brewery, and I'll be sure to stock up for you central Arkansas homies who can't get your hands on it.
Dude that is so clutch. I just wanna try it, don't need a bunch, just a single will do. Keep me in the loop and we can make something happen
BDCS is a brewery only release for now, so no distribution; other than what I distribute to my house.
5 Case Limit was cut to a one case limit. 150 tickets sold for the Friday night release party. The brewery is going to be crazy on Saturday. If you didn't get a ticket and you want some beer you better get there early and get in line
Right on. I'm very glad I decided to do the ticketed event on Friday. It's likely going to be a mess itself but nothing like Saturday will be.
Anyone know what it would take to snag a ticket in trade or cash? I am flying out from the East Coast, and would be willing to give up a King's ransom for a ticket!
I think I had a trading buddy just mention what you're willing to give up and it's quite the offer. I'd sell you a ticket for much less if I had an extra but I've only got the 2 for my brother and I. I didn't even really consider getting any extra for folks that may be ISO.
