Hi everyone. My friend who's new to the craft beer scene is currently in Moreno Valley and is looking for places to drink and buy Pliny. Can anyone help with some suggestions? I've already looked up some places here on BA, but there wasn't many results. Thanks.

Try this link but good luck finding Pliny in Mo Val! There are some shops in Riverside that carry Pliny but it's really difficult to buy because it's kept in back rooms and held for the shop's regular customers. My best advice for your friend is that he visit the shops on the list in the link above, get familiar with them, and hopefully they will let him buy Pliny.
La Bodega in Riverside carries Pliny but I have only seen it on the shelves once in the last year or so.

Tell your friend to enjoy the local Southern California IPAs instead of chasing Pliny.

Been trying to. Any "local" places you can recommend? He said he may be heading as south as San Diego.

I don't know what's in Moreno Valley in particular, but there are many places in the Riverside area worth checking out. Here are a few:

    Bars/Restaurants:

    The Salted Pig
Wicks (also a brewery, but they carry beers besides their own)
Killarney's (one in Riverside and one in Temecula)

    Breweries:

    Packinghouse
    Inland Empire Brewing
Main St Brewery in Corona (inside Lamppost Pizza. Temporarily closed, but is supposed to reopen relatively soon. Worth keeping an eye out for.)

    Bottle Shops:

El Cerrito Liquor (in Corona, but worth the drive)
    La Bodega

Also, in Redlands there is H24, Ritual and soon to be open Escape. The new pub in downtown - The State also carries good stuff on tap

If he is going south to San Diego, then he is heading to the Mecca of the craft beer world and won't be disappointed with all the breweries and beers available down there. He should stop in Temecula, particularly Old Town and there is plenty of bars and restaurants that have nice tap list there.
Finding good beer in So Cal takes work, but it's not that hard.

I know there's a Bevmo in Mo Valley. Been to this depressing place called PH Woods long time ago I believe is now defunct.

For bottles try La Bodega in Riverside or El Cerrito in Corona. Eureka! Burger in Redlands and The Salted Pig in Riverside has it on tap quite often.

Temecula is not far and there is some great breweries. Try Refuge, Black Market, Iron Fire...

    Just be aware

La Bodega has tried to sell me 1 month+ old pliny twice. they called it fresh.

I dont know if anyone else had that experience.

Go to El Cerrito or the total wine in Rancho Cuc. Should be able to find some on the right day.
