I'm passing through Nebraska (Omaha/Lincoln) on Friday and then again around middle of next week. Where do I want to go? Looking for breweries/tasting rooms, bars with amazing beer lists and good beer shops.
Beertopia at the same corner, 30th and Farnham. Downtown, Upstream has pretty solid brews, and if you feel like heading 15 minutes south to Papillion, Nebraska Brewing Company is worth checking out.
Urban Wine Company downtown has a decent bottle selection and Cuvee Van de Kaizer, Abt 12, Lucky Bucket Oktoberfest, and Matilda on tap. Further out west, Brix lets you pick bottles from the store and open them at the bar.
Omaha Bars & Bottles: Beer Corner USA (3 bars and a bottle shop all in one) http://beercornerusa.com/ Krug Park http://www.krugpark.com/ (across the street from Jake's) Jakes Cigars http://www.jakescigars.com/bg1/category/ontap/ (not sure if accurate, but gives you an idea at least) Brix http://www.brixomaha.com/ My preferred bottle shop: Hy-Vee at 14591 Stony Brook Boulevard Brew Pubs: Upstream Brewing http://www.upstreambrewing.com/ Nebraska Brewing Company http://nebraskabrewingco.com/main.asp Lazlo's (Empyrean) http://www.lazlosbreweryandgrill.com/ Brewery Tours: Lucky Bucket http://www.luckybucketbrewing.com/ Specialty: Like Arcades? visit Beercade http://www.thebeercade.com/ Like Single Malt Scotch? http://www.dundeedell.com/single malt.html Lincoln Bottles: The Still http://thestill.com/ N Street http://nstreetdrivein.com/Home/ tweeted last night they have "One bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 yr $349.99"
Figured I would point out for the sake of anyone else that stumbles across this thread that The Crescent Moon/Huber Haus/Max and Joe's/Beertopia are at 36th and Farnam not 30th :-)
