Perhaps but he has been doing it since before any price increase. Plus if they charged $14 (I believe that's what I heard or was it $13?) and cost $10 that is still more than the normal margin they have on beer.

omaha getting any of the second black note drop? Just saw CB hy-vee got 24 bottles but they are sold out now.

 

I'm guessing we will, haven't heard anything from Jbros or Bell's. Haven't asked though either :-)

That Espresso Stout by Zipline is pretty tasty... plus its like $6.99 for a bomber @ 8.5% ABV. Its a steal for a very good beer in my opinion.

 

Excited for new Zipline and Brickway locations in NoDo

 

Also if anyone cares, we currently have Lizard of Koz on tap at The Session Room, 1502 Mike Fahey St.

 

Interesting, I haven't heard about Brickway moving into NoDo, where are they going?

 

Retail spaces under the new apartments across from like Blueline and Urban

 

Completely moving or a satellite location? If satellite then that makes no sense to me but I don't know their (brickway) business. /me shrugs

 

im 30 years old and have lived in omaha all my life, and have never heard anyone call north downtown NoDo

 

The person who told me this made it seem like it will be a satellite. I guess they need more space.

I've been kind of disappointed in Brickway lately tbh. I got a growler of their imperial stout and it was frankly awful. Started turning to molasses as it warmed up and was overly sweet. I had a weird stomach ache after like 2 pints and ended up pouring the rest down the drain.

I will say though, that Maple Pecan Brown is surprisingly solid, as that isnt something I would normally expect myself to be into. Honestly I wish they would quit trying to do the hard liquor thing and just focus on their beer, as I know they're capable of turning out really good products

 

When Slowdown and the Hotels were first built, its been a few years now, the developers and the Omaha World Herald tired to get everyone to call that part of town NoDo. They thought a flashy name would help draw attention to the area which would lead to more developers.

The name didn't really catch on so I am not surprised you hadn't heard it called that before.

That being said, this community is really on the come up and its going really be thriving by the end of 2017

 

I have not had the MPB but it doesn't sound up my alley. I could do without all of them except Pils on draft myself. Hard liquor is the owner's real passion. I think of the beer as something they can sell now while waiting on whiskey etc. to mature.

 

I should say if they are moving the brewery to expand production but then plan on keeping the original taproom that makes sense to me. I was picturing a satellite taproom and that's all.
