Bale Breaker recently expanded their distribution in Western Washington, you should be able to get their stuff in Vancouver now.

Yes they do have Bale Breaker now according to their beer finder:

Is it ridiculous of me to go across the river and buy bale breaker or Fremont?

Edit: Anybody have the beat on By The Bottle in Vancouver? Is it crazy expensive?

No, it is not ridiculous to make that trek.

If I lived in Vancouver, I'd drive over to Portland for some Heater Allen.

I mean, I drove all the way to Home Valley to get it... I did combine it with a cool little waterfall hike and some Columbia River swimming with my dog though.

All of that notwithstanding, you mentioned above that future Sticky Hands cans are going to cause you to go broke. Well, it's not quite as big of a beer as Sticky Hands, but Topcutter cans might be your key to the poorhouse right now. I think the beer is on par with all of the great Oregon IPAs - and it's canned for fuck's sake. Go get it (and then send me some)!

As a side: Is there any more Sucaba I can find while I'm out there? It came and went like lightning here in the Midwest. I know it is a long shot.

Come to Seattle. Tons of Sucaba sitting around at the grocery near my house.

See, this is how The Infestation goes. Dude asks for local suggestions to take out to the shore with him. PDX folks are all "here, try these locals", next thing ya know, FIB is getting an invitation to take all of WA Sucaba. If I end up stuck with Goose Island 312, I'm blaming distantmantra.

2/pp limit at Belmont Station, at least 2.5 cases on the floor. Zupans on Belmont has it too.

I'm traveling to Portland 3/17 through 3/22. I've been getting a lot of great info from the various guides and threads here in this forum, but I was recently wondering: do I have any chance at getting boneyard notorious triple IPA in a growler or glass in any of the Portland bars or would I have to travel to Bend (or am I simply not in season for it)? I guess as a follow up, what are some of the "must try" local IPAs in Portland. Aside from this: I can't freaking wait to drink my wait in cascade sours.

Stopped by there a month or so ago. Decent prices from what I saw, but didn't spend to much time there. Picked up some 2008 and 2009 Old Guardian for $8 or $9 dollars. I will say their selection did seem somewhat limited though.

For whatever reason, most places that carry Notorious in PDX are (apparently) not allowed to sell growlers of it. However, several places down here (Eugene) will sell growlers of it, and at shockingly reasonable prices. That being said, boneyard doesn't send out kegs all that often, so it's really hit or miss as to whether it will be available when you're in town. It's the same in Bend, so I would call in advance to check on availability. Good luck.

Check APEX for Notorious. Growler Guys had it last week, though not for growler fills.

IPAs: breakside ipa, breakside wanderlust, laurelwood workhorse, gigantic ipa, all barley browns, ft george vortex, fat heads now I guess, lucky lab super dog, HUB ipa, Goodlife descender, crux outcast, pelican imperial pelican. Some old classics are HoTD blue dot, Ninkasi tricerahops and lompoc c-note.

Fat Heads. Oregon has no good IPAs but now we have Fat Heads! Finally we got a beer we can be proud of.

Ok all sarcasm and bullshit aside, yes you might be able to find notorious. Its a year around beer, it just depends on when it lands. It is usually always on at Apex now.

Would agree with most of this save for Blue Dot. Had a pint at Horse Brass two days ago....uhhh no. Just no. Spend your $6-$8 elsewhere.
