If you want to see where the more new-wavey stuff is at then it might be worth checking out Mother Kelly's (they've got a branch in Vauxhall) or the Craft Beer Co (any convenient branch). Or if the weather's nice, the Hop Locker under Waterloo Bridge looks good for an al-fresco pint or two.

Heading into nicer weather the hop locker is a great shout, lots of great food from the market too.

The Vauxhall outpost was outstanding. Great beer selection, knowledgeable staff and a focus on local (Great Britain) craft breweries. Beer was largely served in tekus, which also surprised and impressed me. If I was a local, it's a place I would be visiting on a pretty regular basis.

    Thanks again for the tip!

Ratebeer now 100% controlled by inBev

You know what, I don’t like Ratebeer, never have. Seems to attract a lot of people that are real harsh on quality small batch microbrewers & rave/fawn over dull big brewery beers like the macros are going to give them money or a job.

So I don’t foresee any great change happening.

I cant stand any ale that is hop forward, maybe when the ratio is closer to half.I like Landlord but even that seemed like it could use a little more malt. Its not avaliable enough here for me to confirm if I like it enough to drink it regularly.

Even for someone who has specifc tastes as myself. Unless craft dismantles or wipes out tradtional ale and pubs it seems useless to criticize it, unless its warranted.
