My local Aldi does not have a PA license to sell beer. I wish I could buy Wernesgüner pils at 7 bucks, that beer sound like a contender for the 'best beer for the buck' award.

I can buy Yuengling Lord Chesterfield at less than 15 bucks for a 12-pack so that is in my top 5 'best bang for the buck' beers. Genesee beers like their Bock beer are great deals too.

Hmm, maybe somebody should start a thread asking "What is your best bang for the buck beer?"

    Cheers!

It is a damn good value. Next time I see some I'm definitely stocking up on a few packs.

Heyyy I think that'd be a good thread. That'd create good discussion to Id think. Especially in times where more of us is trying to save some pennies.

    Cheers!

This makes absolutely no sense to me. Are you a liberal arts major?

Fair point. But would the price much less if it wasn't? Like lets say, if it's frozen. One would hope if they're going to charge that much, they'd use premium ingredients.

I'm pretty sure Nightmare uses fresh fruit for their sours. Their Instagram page often has snippets of whatever they're brewing at the time. What goes into it, the process, etc.

I buy the US lagers a four pack at a time. I buy the European lagers a case at a time.

Thankfully, beer is not a necessity (I think?) and I can always adjust my purchases and drinking habits. I recently saw a 4-pack of 16 oz cans from a Florida brewery for $34.99. Now, I think it was an "imperial stout", but I doubt if anyone in Panama City Beach, FL is going to pay that kind of price. A few weeks later I did not see this beer. Is it possible it sold?

Excellent pils, $5.99 at the Aldi's near me.
I've been there when they had none, but a few days later they had restocked.

I agree beer prices are nuts. But sometimes I see guys talk about crazy beer prices but then go on beer road trips. Drive hundreds of miles to stock up. Well what's the cost of that after gas, tolls etc not to mention time. Sometimes it's just getting good beer. Sometimes it's our hobby. Try something new, treat ourselves. and it's not just beer, have you seen the priced of good wine and bourbon lately

I kind of ate my words immediately. Ordered ten new to me NA beers from the Netherlands, €33 for the beers themselves and €25 for transport, that is close to €6 per beer. As I sold my car as unnecessary, I can comfortably carry about 9-10 beers in a bag from the delivery point. Looks it's important to me to have at least some new beer in the fridge I can get acquainted to, register, photograph and of course taste! But it's always about balance. Just hunting new would be very expensive, and not comfortable either.

Yes, Beer is more expensive since they change bottles for cans, and add more beer and instead of purchasing a pack of bottles, we buy individual cans that are more expensive. And also because we want to try new products that smaller breweries do. It's my contribution to help small breweries even though the quality is not always better than other bigger breweries.

While browsing the beer aisles recently it also hit me that there's so much beer now that is just okay to me and this isn't an issue if the price matches "just okay". But once one of these beers approaches $13.99 for a six pack you think a little more about the purchase.

Learn to home brew. There are a lot of clubs out there willing to help.

I have a Robust Porter (my version of Hill Farmstead Everett) and an Ekuanot IPA in primary fermenters right now and my recently brewed Wet Hopped Harvest Ale is finishing the bottle conditioning phase now.

    Homebrewing is great!! :beers:

Yep. Brew your own while you can. No pun intended.
The older I get, the more I need to push myself growing hops and brew process.
But a trip to the store looking at the beer prices brings resolve.
Like fixing your car, you can pay someone or do what you can to save.
I wish I could do all my car repairs. Oh well.
At least I don't sit all night in it waiting for the repair shop to open.
Do some people still do that for special releases of oaked BBQ tater tot hot sauced smores
    G string milk stout?
