I'm with this guy, a job I'm applying for needs me to be at least a Meyven on beeradvocate so I'm hard at work mining karma. Does anyone have any to trade for whalez bottlez that definitely aren't drank and refilled with bud light before being rewaxed?

 

All I know is I lost a lot of points maybe 12-18 months ago, but I still post and am active and have been at the same points/karma for 18 months now.

 

Probably the same time all of us did. I lost perhaps 10% of my points due to one of the reworks of the algorithms. Other times with karma reworks I've gained, though not 10%. As far as why you're stuck - have you reviewed/added beers/places? Looking at your stats, the answer is no. I am surprised if you haven't gotten a few points from posts and likes though. If you want to see karma rise, start reviewing (instead of just rating) beers and places. I see you did a trade last year - didn't you get karma for that?

 

I’m not sure if I got karma for my trade. I do post less and less tho now a days. I used to post almost daily where the past 18+ mos I’ve scaled back considerably (even tho I pop in to look at the WBYDN thread daily). I was a little pissed when I lost those karma points!

You’re right tho, I rarely review so maybe I’ll do that more

 

One contribution that does not appear to earn any karma is correcting the listings.

 

Uploading pics tend to give karma too. And rating gives some, believe it or not. Apparently that's better than nothing!

 

I think that was one of the changes that resulted from the "gamefication". Groups of folks would just post on every thread (especially WBAYDN, multiple times), then "like" each others posts. Folks were rocketing up the scoreboard. I think that now getting a like doesn't get you anything (maybe .001 of a point?).

Wow, threw me back a few years here. This reminded me of the thread where people were bitching about karma and the remark was made about someone having their BA rating and karma on his resume (in jest). And here you are required to have your BA rating to get a job. Good luck

 

I already put my Taekwondo rank and amateur (ham) radio license level on my resume under "other interests". Should add my BA rank.

 

As of today, I now have 1,000 approved Beer Pics! It has been a long time in coming, but my philosophy is that I refuse to Pop! a cap or Crack! a vent until a pic is in place.
