Tonight, I will reach a small milestone in beer. Though it may be just a personal milestone, none the less I view it as a small achievement. I have learned about glassware and how it can effect the taste of certain styles of beer. I have learned that some beers taste different at different temperatures. I have learned that some beers taste like shit that other people recommend for me and that some beer that people call crap have been awesome.

Unibroue brewing company in Canada thus far has produced many of my top ten beers. La Fin Du Monde, Trois Pistoles, Maudite and Don De Dieu are all amongst my top ten. They range in alcohol content from 8 to 9 % each. In general though, I seem to enjoy the Ales the most. The most tasteful beer in what I have experienced though is Art of Darkness by Ommegang brewery in cooperstown Ny. With an alcohol content of 8.9% It is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale that is damn near all around perfect, in my opinion of course.

Though I can not say for sure what my least favorite brewery is, I can say that the absolute worst 3 of 4 beers I have ever tasted are all American Adjunct Lagers. Gennesee, Icehouse and Bud Light Lime are all equally terrible. But the one beer that is just damn horrendous is a beer called Swamp Ape Ipa by Florida beer company. I will never revisit the taste of these .........Things.

Overall thus far the journey has been fun but now I would like some input from the Beer advocateers that may read this. Advice on where to find these next ten I would like to try. Their thoughts on them. Even some recommendations on some beers to try. I would like to try Founders Kentucky Breakfast stout, Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout, Zombie Dust, Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Bean Dark Lord, Bells Hopslam Ale, Trappistes Rochefort 10, Bells Black Note Stout, Duck Duck Gooze, Alesmith Speedway Stout & Sam Adams Utopias.

From ano one out there. If not these 10, what would ya'll recommend. Thanks for reading.

Those are definitely some very enjoyable brews - most of them are not the easiest to come by (the exceptions being Trappistes Rochefort 10 and Alesmith Speedway Stout) though that will somewhat depend on distribution.

Since you seem to really enjoy Belgian Strong Dark Ales, I might suggest Allagash Black, De Dolle Oerbier, and Brooklyn Local 2 - not to replace any that you have suggested but some other enjoyable ones.

If you haven't checked out Allagash, I would definitely suggest them.
