This. I don't mind more info but this is the bare minimum.
I actually love long descriptions/stories on labels. Makes the whole thing more fun!

don't care about style assignments....but ABV I must know, as this matters a great deal to me if I have an occasion in mind. I hate shiny labels, but that is very petty on my part

No bottled on date or ABV... But that's already been covered.

It is splitting hairs, but if you give me an imperial IPA I expect hoppy up front and malts in the back that give me a well balanced finish. Where as a double IPA, I expect hops all the way through. Subtle differences but I generally prefer doubles for this reason

Style, ABV, Bottling Date. Everything else is art.

    No ABV.
    No dates.
No stories or ANYTHING on the bottle/holder.
Not saying where the brewery is or where the beer is made(rare, but they're out there)

Intricate designs/ labels to hide what really matters, the beer! What is it and who made it?!? I shouldn't have to research a beer that is in my hand.

I also like consistent labels between the same brewery. New Belgium labels are easy to read and all fit together.

Basically everyone else's comments, abv and style need to be on the label

For me it's just bottling date, abv doesn't bother me much

Really like to see the bottle date if it's something intended to be enjoyed fresh. ABV is helpful when I'm choosing what to drink from the fridge but not always necessary at time of purchase

I think one beer label pet peeve that hasn't been mentioned is labels that look like they have been put on by a one armed drunk in the dark (looking at you three floyds)

I think @Dravin and with one addition from @JStampler:
    • Brewer
    • Style or brief description
    • ABV
    • brewery location - more so b/c I'm lazy and there are a LOT of breweries out there
Of course bottle on, best by, or both, but those aren't necessarily on the "label", to split hairs.

You hit the nail on the head. ABV should appear on every can and bottle! This is a safety issue in addition to being fundamental information for consumers. Style, or at least useful descriptive text, should also be included ... and if the brewery has neglected to do this, please don't give the beer a misleading name or slogan.

I have no pet peeves, because like 98% of the time I know what I'm getting into before I buy a beer for the first time. Jeez- the information is out there, and I for one, insist on using it (especially since the last time there was a great expansion of beers available we didn't have this sort of thing, and I didn't fare too well with hits vs. misses...)

However- if you do want me to try your beer sight unseen, just tell me all of the relevant info to help give me a sense of what it is and to persuade me.

I hate when there is an ingredient list of "malt, yeast, water and hops and that's it" or something along those lines. I find it almost pretentious in its unpretentiousness. But its even worse when something is brewed with love or care.

Mine is just terrible quality labels that tear and fall off the bottle (cough, cough three floyds)

On the opposite end, kudos to breweries like Jackie O's who put a lot of effort into creating unique label art that actually sticks to the bottle and doesn't get soaked with bottle sweat as it warms up

honestly, i don't care about the label. brewers and breweries choose their label for a reason, i would hope, and it's their medium to design.

That's fine. At least include a brief description of what the beer is going to probably taste like. If it's an IPA, use the word "hoppy," if it's a pilsner, say "clean and crisp," a fruit beer "sweet and refreshing," a stout, "malty and robust." It's not that hard

What annoys me is a killer label with a great description but the beer sucks.
