    Hello my fellow beer buddies,

2 weeks ago I bought a ton of beer and put on top of 3 bags of ice in a cooler in my spare bathroom.

Was wondering if it would still be good as they’re submerged in the water?

Thanks in advanced for the responses.

You're joking right. I'm not being a smartass. The beer is in a sealed container, right?

Yeah, figured a dumb question, but wasn’t sure woth the water being warmer now and the beer not cold.

So, I should be good to re-ice them down and enjoy?

Fine as in not detrimental to your health you’ll be fine I’ve done it myself. If the water stunk or was brown and stuff like that then I wouldn’t personally

Not a dumb question. With the cooler being indoors the entire time, I don't think you have anything to really worry about. They are likely fine. Try one.

2 days is probably OK. That is 48 hours and breweries allow for 36 hours of freshness in ice.
7 days is one week and that is usually not good. That's 193 hours, well over 36.
2 weeks is 14 days and that is definitely not good. 387 hours. So you are on your own here.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the ice is not in the cooler anymore but there is water in the cooler now. And my math could be wrong. This is a tough call to be honest.
But you'd have to pour one to be certain.
    Good luck.

Unless the water got too warm you should be fine.

One thing to consider, if the cooler was near a bass speaker you could have premature aging and couple that with warm water your in for a mess.
    Safe drinking!

When I made that post, I was only thinking of the condition of the beer inside, but thinking about it, you should probably be more concerned with the condition of the cooler/water/packaging. Does the water still seem clean... do you see any issues with the bottle caps or cans? It might pay to clean the cans before opening.

    Fairly "sturdy" beers?

Wash the cans good if you are drinking out of them, and wash the top good if you are pouring. They probably have some mold on them.

This is not a big deal here, people. The cans have been submerged in room-temperature water for about a week and a half (3-4 days for all that ice to melt in a closed cooler). This is no problem, you won't have mold, just rinse them off and enjoy.

I am still waiting for someone to ask if the fridge light could impact their bottled beer, if they need to use a shield or something to ensure total darkness, maybe next week that will arrive.
    LOL

I always wrap bottles in tin foil before they go in the 'fridge. Don't you?

I roll with dark colored jello encasing my beer. I not only get light protection but a solid dampening effect to eliminate the fridge motor vibration and any premature oxidation associated with it.

Why wouldn’t they still be good? At the worst they’re room temp even if stuck in the water, but I’d rinse them off pretty well, you’d hate to get dysentery from the crappy stagnant water, but the beers are good.

Just curious, but why not just keep adding ice to keep them cold?
