I've never taken part of a line share but I've witnessed the aftermath. When you have a few hundred people consuming high % beers for several hours straight, I'm sure there is always someone who is gonna act a fool.

Solo dome a Black Tuesday? Saw someone butt chug a rare 15? Fist fight with grandparent mules?

Any crazy, funny or downright stupid stories anyone want to share pertaining to beer/line shares or festivals?

I don't do the beer line deal but I attend AZ Strong Beer Fest a lot and I can tell you I see more stupid people than I care to mention. These guys/girls chug like its a bud light and they fall one after another very soon, its pretty fun to watch. Fist fights, women puking, all that good stuff.

    Cheers.

    Like @AZBeerDude72 :

No line stories but my BFE, Virginia small home town managed to develop a craft beer festival 2 years ago and the wife and I went. Mind you some...most.. of the people that attended were absolutely clueless asking how there can be no Bud Light at a beer festival, the people pouring who were simply volunteers were completely clueless for the most part. Listening to them try and explain what the beer was and what it's supposed to taste like was more entertainment than anything. Outside of said patrons getting utterly blitzed when they actually found a stout or a strong ale they liked, not knowing it was about 10% and knocking them back. Many people on the floor, a lot of puke, and overall hilarity for me

I wasn't there to see it, but a fest I volunteered at, some other volunteers were talking about some years earlier someone did a keg stand of Utopias. And making Black and Tans from DFH WWS and 120min.

There was a guy that opted to do the running belly slide across the bottle share 'display' picnic table. That ended poorly for him. I didn't see it (only heard the commotion) but I did see the blood trail. Dark Horse 4 elf party probably 2014?

I am happy that I don't stand in line for beer. These stories make me happier that I don't do it.

To be fair, if someone offered me a keg stand on a keg of Utopias, I don't think I'd pass up on it. It might be the only thing I drink that day, but it'd be a tasty story.

That Black & Tan just sounds like a quick way to get hammered, although it wouldn't be much different than drinking either one alone.

I don't go to festivals or wait in lines. I nearly bought tickets for Taps and Tastes this past weekend, but when I realized how crowded it would be, and the fact that it's outside and the forecast was for high 90s, sun, and humidity I figured it wouldn't work best. Not much interest to shell out triple digits to drink a few great beers out in the heat and sun. Talk about roasted taste buds.

Even for a second or two? That's just the equivalent of 1 or 2 shots of whiskey.

Make a short pull, and dart for the dance floor.

I think there are far less beer line shenanigans than tales of lore would make one believe. I've never done anything more than an hour or so -- but I have done many many 30min to 1 hr lines all over VT/ME/MA since the Heady craze kicked in here in 2012. Haven't seen a single shenanigan worth telling in 5 years of lines.

I'm not saying that I wouldn't do it. I'm just saying that it's not the best idea that either of us have ever had.

They say drinking alone is really bad until you go to a beer festival that's gone bad. Alcohol plus stupid can either be funny or tragically sad. Makes me happy I own a home and a dog I can quietly have a beer with.(I have the beer,he just gets his head scratched)

The end of any GABF session is evidence of this. ESPECIALLY the 2nd session on Saturday.

Those still stand as the most epic shares, especially as there was a kind of looseness to them that was great. A table with open bottles of some of the world's best beers and a help yourself kind of attitude made it amazingly enjoyable. Worst things I saw was a drunk guy almost get run over, and another time a guy got too close to the space heater during a cold overnight wait and his pants caught on fire. My favorite memory was a guy going around holding all four Armand seasons just randomly pouring.

Never thought of Utopias on tap, how much does a keg of that go for?
