It's their first album from back in 2003:

Saw those guys open up for Gwar - awesome throwback thrash, like I stepped into 1986 and began watching like a Billy Milano thrash band but musically better than MOD.

They haven't been able to produce a beer that is so technical and sterile sounding yet that it puts everyone to sleep yet to be named after Necrophagist :grinning:

Would be perfect for a nice fall beer.

New BDM Abysmal is a bit heavier/thrashier than their previous offering Everblack, which is more memorable with hooks and melodies. Both are fantastic albums though!

NoDa Brewing made a stout with raspberries called "Between The Berries & Me". It was delicious.

I think the metal and beer affiliation is tired. Plus it turns people off.

They're awesome live, funny as hell too. I've seen them three times and every time there's at least one person from the audience pulled into the stage to funnel a beer :grinning:

Rumpelstiltskin Grinder is another favorite; basically I like thrash that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Dimmu Borgir Doppelbock Beer? No? Ok.

Actually I suppose it would need to be an Eisbock to fit the whole frozen blackened northern wastelands theme.

I'm an Americana, folk, some jazz, and general lover of original music. Consider this: I saw Led Zeppelin in Raleigh in 1969 when I was a freshman at Richmond. "Whole Lotta Love", Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and it was all simply out of this world. That was transforming at that time. It still rings in my head. I saw Robert Plant in New Orleans at Jazz Fest (maybe 2011) and he did a remarkable rendering of the classics with a great band.

There are plenty of amazing metal bands out there, but there's nothing like seeing iron Maiden with a few brews!

So...Protest The Hero is dropping a new song on the fifteenth of every month for the next six months. First one has already dropped. Not sure of video posting guidelines, so I'll just recommend you search it on youtube. Called ' Ragged Tooth ' and I highly suggest it as I do all of their other music.
