I won’t knock it til I try it, but I’d probably prefer to go with an imperial stout float.

    What a lazily written article.

How about make your own fucking ice cream since it's so easy, and fun, to make your own ice cream.
If you're gonna destroy your body at least put in a little effort!
    Health is wealth!

For example, SALT AND STRAW has a BREWERS SERIES of ice cream this summer and look at their flavors:

    https://saltandstraw.com/products/pints-of-the-month-pack

You can make this kinda shit in your kitchen in a heartbeat!

I tried the Breakside Stout one and while i felt like i was gonna die after it it wasn't bad.

Ice cream in the summer, or anytime, is the weirdest shit to me.

Generated for Google SEO, like most things these days.
Salt and Straw is good! We hit them up quite a few times. Figures they'd release a brewers series after I move.

I once had a Rootbeer Float somewhere in California, and my American friends were looking at me like I was nuts because I already drank regular root beer during the whole dinner.

If the beer is better at a warmer temperature when the flavors are more complex doesn’t blending it with frozen dairy bring down the temperature giving you a less flavorful product?

I’d probably react the same way—I mean, that sounds like a lot of root beer.
You probably aren’t adding that much beer to the ice cream to make your shake, or you’d end up with soup—so you probably don’t want to use a super complex, subtle beer anyway. It’s the combination of flavors that would make this a unique dessert/beverage. But hell, maybe a Bourbon County/cookies ‘n’ cream shake would be amazing—who knows?

I’d be curious to see how a beer blends with something really sweet like ice cream. But it’s not like there is a void in cold alcoholic drinks to stay cool in the summer.

I once made a porter milkshake. It was just okay - not as sweet as what my brain says a milkshake should be.

I've seen beer milkshakes offered on a food menu at a few breweries but never ordered one. I don't recall the flavor combination(s) offered.

Bourbon barrel flavored stouts, with or without other flavors in the beer, sound like they'd be good.

This would probably work great in a milkshake.

I agree it's not something that I'd be clamoring for.

But a cold beer with ice cream sounds better than hot beer with an egg, and that used to be a popular thing...https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/how-to-brew/flip/

Beer milkshakes are much of what I already see at my local craft beer shops.

I used a SN Narwhal for a float, was a great choice when I did it a few years back. But I also haven't been dying to try it again - because like mentioned above it wasn't as good as my brain thought it would be.

I definitely recall the pastry chef at Revolution playing around with the beer float idea and putting them on the brunch menu when they first started. They can be quite tasty.

Do you remember what one of those cost? I’m guessing $ 15.00.

That actually sounds like it would be pretty good - kind of like spiked eggnog but with a beer twist.
