There used to be a place in NYC called Mark Burger that did Guinness shakes. It was outrageously good.

I used to bring a six-pack of Guinness Extra and a package of Oreos to nosh at football games -- probably would have made a great Blizzard!

I made root beer when I was in High School in Oregon (training for adulthood?). My grandfather had given me his prohibition-era (cast iron) capper that I still have today. (He used it for fruit wines).

And I made root beer floats using homemade root beer & hard ice cream at home and bought commercial floats with soft ice cream at Arctic Circle.

Root beer is out of favor. In the late 70s at Yaphank Beer, I bought 29 oz refillable Cornell sodas, including both Root Beer and Sarsparilla.

I remember we used to make Rootbeer floats out of Not Your Father's Rootbeer. Man, that was a great summer!

I had a Guinness Float on my menu when I worked at the Pub.
Not very popular, but it was actually pretty good, with chocolate ice cream.
Personally, I'll just take the beer as is, possibly with a second to follow for my dessert.

That's a little out of the cheat you fair range Chicagoans would go for. I'd hedge it more around $10-12.
