Beer name maximum length increased to 125 characters

    Just an FYI...

    The max length for beer names has been 75 character for a very long time, but over the years brewers have become more "creative" with their beer names and many have pushed that max char length. (Looking at you, Jeppe / Evil Twin.) This resulted in quite a few beer names being truncated when added or abbreviated to fit the field length. Not ideal.

    So, to accommodate all of this, I've increased the max length to 125 chars. This should be enough for now, and we can always revisit it, but 125 was an easy update that had minimal impact to our code and database.

    Please report (suggest an edit) any previous beer entries that might need to be fixed.

    Thanks!, I've run into the old limit a couple of times and one was your main culprit. Let's hope Evil Twin doesn't take this as a challenge.....

    I see there isn't a beer named after Fiona Apple's When the Pawn... album yet. I'm afraid 125 characters still wouldn't be enough.

    Listermann with their stuff like "That's A Really Excellent Blue Duck, Billy" are getting there with their naming conventions as well. :laughing:

    Yeah. From Evil Twin. It's 123 characters, but had to be cropped so I'll need to look at increasing the max chars again. Jeppe should be paying for this service.
