I just used it, thought of the people, and wanted to share this story. Bear with me. Two years ago my wife and I were in Myanmar for a month and spent nine days at Inle Lake. On the second day we found this place we really liked, so we had dinner and a few Mandalay Lagers there every night from that point forward. The place was run by an incredibly gracious family. Beautiful people. Husband, wife, and their three kids. They were very good to us. When our stay ended and we told them it was our last day, the dad went into the kitchen and came back with two bottle openers. Very simple. Hand made. I piece of wood about six inches long, an inch across, and about 1/4 of an inch thick. There was a bolt through the wood with a nut securing it on the other side. As he handed them to us, he said: "So you remember my family." I'm a fairly sentimental guy by nature, but his gesture was so genuine and sincere that I almost lost it. I gave one of the openers to a very good friend in Canada who secured me 24 bottles of Westvleteren 12 while I was out of the country. The second one I intend to keep until I leave this world. Anything similar to share? Cheers.
Nice story. I know someone who shoved a Berchesgaden Hofbrauhaus ashtray down his pants and it is their favorite ashtray.
Going through a bunch of crap in the old house after my dad passed away earlier this year, found some old, old rusted cans of Goebels, Carling Black Label, Ballantine & Genny White label...my dad wasn't much of a beer drinker, usually when it was hot or he was BBQing, but those old cans took me back to the 70s in a hurry
