What beers do you normally drink for a specific occasion. An example would be "I love drinking a nice oatmeal stout on Christmas morning when opening gifts". Lol I want to hear someone's favorite beer for mowing the lawn, I will be taking over that duty this spring! Thanks and cheers!
Hmm, I consider every day on earth a gift, I choose to celebrate that gift today with an Enjoy by IPA and goose island ten hills. A clever idea a friend has is to collect beers with Jesus in the name and drink nothing on Christmas but Jesus beer. (Sweet baby Jesus, double barrel Jesus, etc)
I only drink really rare stuff on special occasions (birthdays, holidays, promotions, moving out... any excuse to celebrate really), and with at least 2 other people. I had a Cigar City Florida Cracker after shoveling the other day. Cold weather usually makes one think of stouts, but Florida Cracker made me think of warmer times... and my trip to CCB last June.
Usually I'll drink anything, anytime, but when I grill outside in winter I like an Evil Urges to keep me company.
The previous two years I have been able to get a Two Roads Igors Dream, I cellared them and shared them with my son on Christmas Eve. It has become a nice tradition I hope will carry on. I have this year's already cellared for next December. Looking forward to it. Cheers!
I have always enjoyed some westbrook gose after mowing the lawn. But as far as special occasions go, I usually just pick something rarer from my cellar to enjoy.
I drink Belgian saisons on horseback and Baltic porters when rafting. I always save an overpriced beer for my birthday just to remind myself that I'm getting older and poorer.
