    Good afternoon to all.
Could someone give some basic guidelines on how to take a nice picture of a beer for the review pages? I've taken some with my camera but the size is too big and also I don't know how exactly to make the picture 150 x 300 pixels. I've tried with Microsoft Paint which has an option to resize your photo, but the result looks like the photo on this page

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10871/41049 (by the way I didn't take that photo).

So, any tips and tricks for better photos? I have met lots of beers with no photos here in BA and at the time I was able to take one and update the page, but the result would be dissapointing.

I usually take a HQ photo and open it, then open a new canvas that I set to the measurements I need (150 x 300). Then I reduce the size of the HQ image until it's small enough to copy and paste into the new canvas.

If you can't figure it out send me a private message/conversation, I can edit it for you tonight and send it back so you can upload it.

I start with the canvas as well. Usually I'll re-size the width of the canvas to 300 first then crop down the height of the image to 150.

This has always driven me mad. I have no issues cropping and resizing an image to the 150x300 limitation. Its the damn file size that screws me up. How the hell can I get an image down to 20kb or less?

It is quite simple with Photoshop using "Save for Web". You can buy Photoshop Elements for less than $100.

Otherwise there are many other applications out on the web that have been mentioned many times in these forums.
