hasn't failed me neither ... that's how I found BA.com in the first place: looking for advice on finding new beers

most six-packs in the Houston area range from $6.99-$9.99 with the $8-9 range being typical. higher ABV beers starting running into $10-plus, but almost never more than $12 unless it's a special/limited release.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Your location and proximity are also a factor. When I have friends up from Chicago, they're always amazed at how cheap the beer is here. And then there is stuff they pay $7 a bomber for, and they want to know why its $20 here. Location and hype.

Stands to reason...the more that is out there...the more chances there are to get a clunker. Hard to say what drives a brewer to set their prices. Sometimes despite a beer being labor intensive and made with quality ingredients...and consequently tends to be pricier...its just not to my liking. Then there are also those times when a beer that is not particularly highly rated suits me just fine. I suppose its just part of the game.
