Hello, will be in the general Durango area hiking mid September any breweries, pubs, and or beer bars worth checking out? Cheers.
I'm definitely no expert on that area, but Ska and Steamworks are both down there. Both of them are worthwhile for sure. I don't think Steamworks does cajun boil pots anymore, but that used to be their signature thing. Carver is one of those brewpubs that popped up at the same time as all the other famous ones like the Wynkoop. Their beer list looks like it hasn't changed since those days but they always used to at least be solid. I don't really know anything about Animas or Anarchy, which are also both down there.
I visit Durango two or three times a year. I used to hit some of the brewpubs, but since Covid, not so much. My somewhat dated experience is that both Carver and Ska are worth checking out. I hit bottle stores more often. Wagon Wheel, Star Liquors, and W.J. Doyle have been the places I've found the most interesting selection.
