As a consumer, I agree with this sentiment. However, if I was a brewer I would not ignore that large-format bottle segment of the market. There seems to be no limit to what some will pay for limited beers in large bottles. Just in the past 18 months in West Michigan we've seen bombers creep from $11-12 to $15-16 to $19-20 recently and they seem to sell out as fast as they hit shelves. Hell, some of the recent Stone offerings have been over $20 for an effing 500ml corked/caged bottle.

I stopped at a bottle shop yesterday and they had Peachy Pom Pom out for $16/btl, and they were already close to selling out.

Yikes. I could've gotten 2 draft pours for around that price.

I understand that people are idiots and will shell out any amount of money but Short's (in the past) always delivered great product at a FAIR price. Times are tough though

Anyone who tried peachy pom pom want to weigh in on how it's tasting? I'm very intrigued...

I had a pour over the weekend. I thought it was well done. More peach than pomegranate came through for me. Great balance and it sure was sour. However, at the aforementioned price of $16/bottle, I wouldn't purchase any. If it was closer to or under $10, count me in.

Awesome on tap, not sure on bottles. Bottle price would be better at 12.99 or below.

Because they are cool. 16-18 for PPP. Not sure about Anny.

Time to search some out it seems.

I imagine that this would allow them to bring new releases to market without the concern of competing for 6-pack shelf space (or cannibalizing on their own space).

Of course, it's also easier to hide an increase in your per-ounce cost, but that's what I've come to expect in this format - so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if that happens.

I hope Spruce Pilsner bombers get added this summer!

    $15.00 sixer = 21 cents per ounce

    $16.00 bomber = 73 cents per ounce

...yeah, that's pretty "cool" if you're the brewer

There is a fine line between Art and Business- factors that need to be accepted- or not, because that's your choice. Thankfully, we come out with many different six packs throughout the year.

FYI --I'm ending my Short's release posts. Talk amongst yourselves, I need to retire from this forum game. Might still comment on threads, though.

You've done a fine job Sean. Just don't ever revert back to killing cases of #9 with PMW.

Snake Juice on the shelves by next week I assume?

Bah, that's too bad. I've enjoyed them. Thanks for doing them while you did.

I've bought a lot of six packs due to your release posts. Yea, I know I can go to Short's website and look at the release calendar, but I just don't remember to do it that often. Short's has an interesting business model, with the twice a month releases, and I am of the opinion that vocalizing ALL of them on every possible forum (here, facebook, etc) is only increasing Short's revenue.

Short's should be paying you, or someone to continue this. You'll be losing money from me when you do, just because I'll be oblivious. Does that matter? /shrug

Don't blame ya. I wouldn't wanna have to respond to all the backlash from the upcoming and blatantly overpriced bomber releases. Cheers

That's a shame. I bought Superfluid, Love Knife, and BBB only because I saw your posts here (I've only been here a couple weeks).

You mean the incessant bitching from a small handful of idiots who don't seem to understand basic economics? His loss, I guess.

I don't think increasing the price of a product about 300% by putting it in different packaging is 'basic economics'. Seems to have fooled you though
