I still have 2 12oz bottles left from the Hop Variety Pack. Do you guys know if Batch 5000 ages well? Similar like a Dogfish 120min IPA?

No IPA ages well. It's a fallacy in my mind. If you want a Barleywine, just buy a Barleywine, why turn a stellar IPA?

120min ages well and it's kind of a triple IPA, right?

My friend had a Batch 5000 the other day, and raved about it. Said it was so juicy. Found a lone variety pack of the HH series, at Spike and Mikes in GR, today! Might have to get it myself, if still around, next week.

I find that comment very interesting...juicy is not something I would have ever described this beer as. Granted, I had mine around the holidays (and the bomber about 6 months prior), but I find it hard to believe it could have transformed into something juicy. Palates are crazy, I guess.

I had the bomber version twice, and found that version to be incredibly juicy. In fact, I was amazed how much tropical fruit juicy-ness shined through the abv. Unfortunately, I didn't get the same impression from the 12oz version. That one was dominated by alcohol phenols and piney bitterness. Good in its own way, but not what I would describe as juicy.

I loved the bomber I had, but still didn't think it was juicy. Just a nice, "heavier" IPA that had a solid balance. The 12 oz. bottles...not so much for me.

Well, a friend recently gave me a bomber from the original release. I shared it last night and it was still delicious. It had been refrigerated though.

Opened up a bottle from the hoppy holidays pack tonight, it was as delicious as the first one I had.
