Beer Release (Short's Brew): Batch 5000

Anybody see a second shipment anywhere in Oakland County? I was out of town when this dropped

 

Plum Market in West Bloomfield on Orchard Lake got some, but they sold out Wednesday . Their other locations might have some.

 

This beer makes my face numb.

 

Finally opened my bottle tonight. Yeah baby! I'll preface by saying that I had crazy high expectations for this beer based on reports here and on local FB groups (and the fact that I'm a HUGE shorts fan). But... Wow! I really really love this beer! Wish I had more than 1 bottle...

ok just gonna say Short's is killing the big IPA. Loved Batch 5000. Complex and incredible.

 

I don't regularly post, but I really enjoyed this beer that much. I wanted to say thank you Shorts for all your hard work and I'll see you guys this weekend.

 

you goin for the cider event? im really interested in those Erraticus variants so im probably heading over there as well.

 

Wife's birthday this weekend, dumping the kids with my sister and staying in TC Friday night.

Good chance we'll make it up to Shorts either Friday night or Saturday since the weather is looking good.

If we end up going ill post on here and maybe we can come up with a way to recognize one another, I'd like to share a brew and put a face to an avatar of fellow BAs!

 

if you are into cider at all id recommend going on Saturday. They will have some new cider on tap and will be releasing 4 different wild fermented ciders in 750ml bottles.

also, while you are in TC, 7 Monks had a barrel aged event last weekend and there are still some goodies on tap. Hipster Brunch and No Rules are still on and might make it to the weekend. Even if they dont, the 7 Monks taplist is pretty damn good right now. hell of a bottle selection as well including Batch 5000.

 

Yes, I was already checking out that 7 Monks list, looks great.

How's the food there? I can get my wife to go to any pub that has great food...

 

I went to 7 Monks last summer for lunch with the family, and we all enjoyed the food.

 

Food is top notch in regards to style. Smallish menu but still very diverse. I eat there often and have enjoyed everything I've had.

 

Split the Brisket nachos and Brussels last time I went with some buddies, all their food is amazing.

 

Do you know now that it's been revealed that Anniversary Ale willl be in Bombers as well if it will be as hard to find as this was?

Also with more brewing capacity at the brewery, why the trend to more larger format bottle releases? I can understand with with the Private Stache Pub only releases, but to take something you used to offer in 6 pack 12oz format to 22oz single bombers is a step backwards, not forward IMO.

 

Short's just announced Peachy Pom Pom bombers are on their way to store shelves.
