I anxiously tried my first bottle earlier and I have to say, I was more than impressed. I don't think there's too much cinnamon at all. It does linger, but in a very enjoyable way. Will be having more, for sure.

i had my first this morning with breakfast and loved it. it could of actually had more cinnamon and i still would of enjoyed it. let more then half the bottle sit for almost an hour while i fed and bathed my son and when i got back to the bottle it was the perfect temp and tasted really nice.

ill probably drink half now and leave the other for fall.

The base for this beer reminds me of strawberry short cake...a lot! Really digging this one! 12 bucks from my local bottle shop

I cracked my first one and all I get is soap and an off flavor, like spiced dishwater. Tried a second bottle with the same results. Both drain pours. Did I get a bad six pack? This is nothing like what I expected.

I experienced some Father's Day Cinnabilly shenanigans just now. I asked my 12 year old daughter to pour me a Cinnabilly. It took her five doggone minutes to open it because she couldn't get over how funny the label appeared. Then she delivered half of the beer to me. In a rocks glass. After I muttered to myself about kids these days, I got off my fat ass and went into the kitchen to show her the numerous pint glasses that she has seen me use hundreds if not thousands of times. The whole reason for having her pour me the beer in the first place was so I wouldn't have to get off my fat ass. So I open our cupboard and showed her, and by now my 10 year old son, the numerous pint glasses (Bell's, Founder's, Frankenmuth and Sam Adams) all in prime location to be seen. In turn, they both start bellylaughing over the absurdity of not being able to determine the proper glass to pour a beer. Oh well, I guess that is the one lesson that should finally be learned by my kids this Father's Day.

Glad I got a sixer, wish I would have been able to get another. Very solid.

Picked up a sixer of Cinnabilly this weekend along with the new Short's variety pack. Looking forward to trying these this week.

That is very strange. Not only do I personally get none of those flavors, but I haven't heard of any other reports. If you do happen to experiece this again with a different six pack (or draft, single from another six pack), don't heistate to let our QC department know. They'll take care of you.

Picked up a couple sixers and I'm very very pleased. Drink closer to room temperature, like people have been saying, to achieve optimum flavor! Gonna make sure to save a few for the winter.

Thanks Sean. I have 4 more bottles, but have already promised 2 of them in a trade so I'm hoping that they are not all bad. I will try another one tonight. Curious, why would I need to experience it from another six pack? Does it not count if all the bottles from one six pack are bad? I'm confident my six pack was handled properly at the store I bought it from.

Was kind of bummed to find out the bottles in the new variety pack were bottled 3 months ago.

It took us a while to get Variety 5.0 all set and ready to go. That being said, all of our beer has at least 6 months shelf life, on the warm shelf. With the addition of our new filler and packaging equipment, that will only rise. 3 months is not old by any means, in my very humble opinion.

Dave- by all means, if you are dissatisfied at all, even without tasting from another six pack, please email our brewery. I figure I would just say that perhaps it would be beneficial to try one from a different six pack. That way, you know if it is actually the way it's supposed to taste, or if it was actually a tainted six pack. I'm by no means saying you're wrong, here- I just haven't heard anyone say anything remotely similar. And if you just want to get refunded beacuse it was simply drain pour for you, email us then as well. We want you to be satisfied.

I understand and appreciate it. I was able to find a six pack from another GR store today. Fingers crossed.

BTW, I stopped at different store which had sold out, but I talked to the owner about my dilemma. He mentioned that he had split a bottle with a friend and they both had completely differing opinions on the beer. He picked up very little cinnamon, but his friend thought it was very cinnamon-forward. So maybe its one of those beers that just hits everyone's palette differently. He hasn't heard of any off bottles either. Might just be a case of, "It's not you, it's me".

Nice cinnamon taste, maybe a litle harsh, but a very thin body for a doppelbock. Lots left at local GR D&Ws if people still looking.

Ok so I cracked a bottle from the second sixer and that's where the cinnamon is. Very different from the first bottles I poured last night. I can tell it's the same beer, but this new sixer is full of flavor. Not muddled soapy spiced liquid. A very interesting flavor profile, and yes, as it warmed up it increased in complexity. Interesting brew.

I thought the cinnamon was very on point in this beer. I wish whatever malt you guys put in Strawberry Short's Cake was used in here as well (and maybe it is and it's the lager vs. ale thing that's a contributing factor) because I can taste the biscuit in the Short's Cake and it's one of the things I love about it. I think that, plus a heap of vanilla for a frosting-esque flavor, would greatly contribute to this being a cinnamon roll beer, instead of just cinnamon. Good stuff, regardless.
