    Greetings everyone!

I am extremely pleased to announce that our first state-wide specialty release of 2013 has been bottled and is awaiting distribution (I would expect it in stores within 2 weeks). This beer has never been bottled before.

Initially referred to as a Black Barleywine, our final decision was to change the stylistic definition to a high gravity Double India Black Ale. Unfortunately, the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau or simply the Tax and Trade Bureau, that approves and certifies beer labels for production) does not recognize Double India Black Ale as an appropriate descriptive statement for an alcoholic beer beverage, so we had to go back and forth with them until we found a title that they would accept--Double Black India Pale Ale.

Goodnight Bodacious: An ale so dark and black that it's completely impenetrable to light, with a layered nose of rich sweetness and unexpected earthy hoppiness. This hefty bodied beer presents big bitter black barley and roasted coffee flavors, along with subtle compliments of dark fruit and green hops. A creeping bitterness eventually resonates profoundly, affecting the entire palate, lingering and drying out the finish. Strong alcohol flavors and pleasant warming qualities become more noticeable as the beer approaches room temperature.
    9% ABV
    136 IBU

    Government semantics...lol.

This seems pretty interesting. I'm assuming that the reason for the change of classification was due to taste? The only reason I ask is because I like DIPAs, but haven't met a barleywine that I've liked yet.

This sounds like a great addition. Have not sampled it yet, but looking forward to it. The label is freaking awesome.

I would think it was on account of the taste.

There are 3-4 six packs left of Woodmaster (kept cold) at Dale's Party Store on Coit Ave.

Just had Publican Porter and I have to say that it is the best porter now made in Michigan that I have had recently.

I'm also still looking for Goodnight.
Perhaps I'll have someone grab me a sixer while up in Bellaire this weekend as I see its available at the Brew Pub.

Sean, what do you recommend on tap right now? I just saw Bourbon Wizard fell off the tap list. Looking like Bourbon Huma for sure, not sure about what else to have them pick up.

Definitely Bourbon Huma--I would also suggest
    The Good Feller
    Earl of Brixom
    Lil' Wheezy
    Juicy Tree

Haven't had fully conditioned Sweet Taters, Honey Badger, or Gingersnap yet...

Damn, the pub is rockin' out right now. I may have to get up there sooner than later.
