i've been drinking craft since the mid 90's just new to the site. i guess i shouldn't call 'some' of shorts beers shit, some just aren't my style. i'm drinking a pandemonium right now and loving it. a straightforward classic. i still feel that shorts lineup is hit or miss. anny ale, publican, hopstache, gargle blaster, honey badger, nicie spicie, are all home runs. then you open a bottle of cinnabilly and nearly vomit from the smell. shorts is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. i guess I'm supposed to leave only happy positive comments that don't hurt peoples feelings...nah, if you enjoy shoveling pine needles into your mouth, try stroker ace now in stores!

Hey, I appreciate it when people express their dissatisfaction with our beer. Keep it comin' with any release you feel you need to vent upon.

I agree, my least favorite in that sampler pack. I loved Kolsch 45, a perfect Kolsch for me

I did like empress catherine, but right after publican which could be a stout itself, makes it so-so.. let's get uber goober bottled and see what happens. .

My opinion is the opposite. I did not care for Nightwheeler. It just did not work for me. I liked the Wit and Kolsch and Stroker was decent. I'm really liking the Key Lime. The lime taste is subtle and fades as the beer warms up but then the other flavors really come out.

Haha, alright dude. Just so you know (because conversations on the Internet can often be misunderstood), I was serious. Negative feedback is essential for us to make changes for the future. Enjoy the day.

I enjoyed Empress, but Publican is really hard to top in my opinion. Very classic, rich, and well balanced.

I'm intrigued by the beer HHH uses as an avatar...granted, I only get the Short's brews that I can get from great BAers, but the Turtle Stout, and Uber Goober, are 2 I'd really like to try one day. Maybe they'll make the 2015 Short's Brew schedule?

Unfortunately, we cannot bottle Turtle or Uber due to the nut content- we still can and most likely will, keg them for special occasions.

Put a big ass note that says "THIS CONTAINS NUTS, DON'T BE STUPID IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC" on the label. I guess that is how others have done it. I'm a huge Peanut Butter beer fan, so I hold out hope that one day, you guys will bottle it again!

It's not the allergy aspect- our QC dept has found that something goes wrong with the beer when it is bottled, in a very short amount of time. There's a post floating around here in the depths of BA, that explains it all.

The only beer we've found that is not temperamental is Woodmaster.

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation, HHH. Sucks to hear, but understandable. I'll have to settle with my Strawberry Short's Cake and hopefully some Key Lime Pie, soon. Unless I can just drive up and buy a keg of Turtle one day, or Uber!

Maybe it's because Woodmaster is barrel aged. Hint. Hint. (Uber and Turtle sound like they'd be delicious as BBA beers.)

Let's get down to the real issue at hand here....."Yet To Be Determined Stout" November-January 2015:

Please tell us it's Mystery Stout so I can drink this one that I have been saving!

It is my favorite stout that I have ever had from Short's and would be sad if it only showed up once in sample pack.

I could go on and on about the weird/wild beers Short's puts on tap at their brewpub/events....but, as for something that was already bottled in very small quantity, Mystery Stout hit the nail on the head, imo. Chewy, rich, complex, smooth, delicious.

Besides, this "Yet To Be Determined" phrasing sure sets up a great PR announcement of "Revealing The Mystery".

Complete topic change and maybe this has already been covered, but have you guys ever kicked around the idea of canning? I thought I may have read u guys got a new bottling line, so maybe that answers the question. However, I have really been liking the Michigan ipas in cans this summer and couldn't help but think how awesome huma lupa, mmmkay, hopstache, prolonged enjoyment, and the rest of my personal favorites would be in cans. I obviously don't know the amount of time/effort that would go into switching to canning and would still happily enjoy shorts brews from bottles. But damn it would be nice to pop some huma lupa cans. Maybe a variety pack of ipas...
