I feel a fanboy attack coming on. How dare you question Short's in any way!!

That is kinda goofy. Although I picked up a couple bottles of ControversiALE with a 12/15/2015 date on them, too. Tasted just fine (forgot how much I liked it) but same thing happened last year with ControversiALE, as well. December bottle dates, but not on the shelves till March.

1/19 seems a bit odd, but this stuff certainly tastes fresh. Exactly like a Shorts IPA with a touch of coffee. I think I like it so far.

I picked up some today while I was in Michigan for KBS Week. Also bottled on 1/19, but still tasted fresh. Quite am interesting combination of coffee and hops.

Really enjoyed this one. High quality coffee with a good balance of citrus/pine/earth from the hops.

I got a 6 pack shipped to me from your great state, and it was delicious. Coffee/IPA mix is a really good combination. It also had a feel of a chili beer. Very good Short's. Might have another tonight.

Having a bottle right now, and yes, it is pretty bad. I could see how coffee lovers would like it though

I'm a coffee lover but I didn't think I'd like this beer. I surprised myself.... I was wrong. The opening aroma of the hops is typical Short's IPA, and then the taste of the coffee is well-balanced with the hops. I'll go back for more.

    Wasn't terrible, certainly not memorable.

Had it a few days ago.

    I really enjoyed it.

    Funny how that works.

I thought it was good! To me it was better than Bean Flicker, and yes I realize BF is a blonde and SJ is an IPA.

I didn't find anything off putting about it and I was definitely skeptical because I only grabbed a single when I typically get a sixer of most Shorts new releases.

I'd try it again but I'm not running out to buy six. I'd say it's worth trying.

I feel the type of Higher Grounds coffee used mingles well with the variety of hops.

Had a chance to give this a whirl tonight and enjoyed it. The bitter notes, espresso or even Turkish coffee-like were really pronounced for me.

Finally got to crack one of these tonight, and... Wow, I really like it! Not at all what I was expecting for a coffee IPA. This is not by any means a coffee forward beer. This is a nice bitter IPA that is balanced out by a perfect amount of malt sweetness. The coffee kind of modifies the hop profile and turns it into something interesting while still leaving enough flavor to recognize it as coffee.

Screw the haters man. Batch 5000, Peachy Pom Pom, and Snake Juice are all great brews that have exceeded expectations. Superfluid is as great as it has always been. Twisted Cain is a fine addition to the seasonal lineup. Swirl stout wasn't mind blowing, but was still a tasty beer. Only one I haven't really enjoyed was Bim Bam Boom, but it was still interesting. I see (taste?) no reason to believe that 2016 won't be as great as any other year.
