Beer Release (Short's Brew): The Liberator

    Good morning!

    The Liberator has been bottled and is awaiting statewide distribution in kegs and bottles. I would imagine it will be hitting stores within 2 weeks.

    This weekend, I tried one from this year as well as a bottle from last year. Both were tasting great!

    To pay homage to the original hop headed hero of Short’s Brewing Company, this beer was made as a 30th birthday gift for Joe Short. A double IPA, this beast employs a sizable malt bill, but it’s the ridiculous amounts of hops added to the boil every 4 minutes, for 120 minutes, that showcases this beer. A fruity, floral, piney intensity of hops penetrates through the caramelized malt profile. This well balanced, full bodied brew finishes bitter with a punch of fresh citrus from the addition of lemon and orange zest post fermentation.

    One of my favorites, I frickin love this beer, and it's relatively low ABV so I'm not plastered after having 2 or 3.

    One of my absolute favorite Short's offerings. Although, Cup A Joe is up on that list too! December is good.

    Been waiting for this one since last December. One of the best DIPAs I've had. Picked up a case of this and a case of Cup a Joe today. Both are fantastic!

    I just cracked my first one tonight. It was phenomenal. It was honestly more of a dank hop bomb than I remembered. So much of the earthy, dank hops backed up by the bitterness of the zest. I don't know if the recipe is slightly different, or if it's my bad memory, but I dig it. Again, absolutely great stuff.
