Well, I just hit #2000 today. It took me the better part of 10 years to get there, but hey, I'm slower and I write a little more than the average bear.

It's a been a fun and bumpy ride, and looking back, man how things have changed. No longer are Westvleteren and Pliny the Elder the most sought after brews from either side of the pond, the days of walking into my favorite lambic spots and enjoying whatever rare treat they have are sadly gone, and tiny, obscure festivals are a thing of the past. On the other hand, new breweries are popping up all over the place here, imports are more readily available if you want them, and quality homebrews now take up the majority of my fridge space.

Even after #2000 reviews, the best and worst stand out.

BEST: Cycle / Mikkeller DOS Brunch (4.97)
    - I felt so horrible for loving a beer with the name Mikkeller on it so much.

    WORST: Oscar Blues GUBNA (1.33)
    - Who brews stuff like this on purpose? And multiple batches too...

There were other worst ones as well, but GUBNA is the most commonly known one that wasn't infected / oxidized.

Anyways, for those of you reviewers out there who've put up a hefty number already, which ones stand out so far?

Thanks, and here's to another 10 years and 2000 beers!
    Jeff

Congrats ... and double congrats on all that homebrew!

After 692 reviews for me, I won't look at my numbers but tell you the real dope ...

    BEST: Rochefort 10
    - I've had other beers I've rated higher, but those numbers have more to do with time/place/extraneous reasons than reality. Rochefort 10 is as good as beer gets, and while many have equaled it for me, none have surpassed it.

WORST: Michelob Ultra/Michelob Ultra Fruit Lime Cactus
    - Worse than nothing. I only drank them because they were gifts from nice people, and I do believe in giving every beer a shot. Michelob Ultra and its lime version had their shot, and they suck so hard never again shall they pass my lips. You can feel death creeping closer to you as time passes while you drink them and waste your lifetime's potential ABV points on whatever it is they have.

Congrats, that is a great milestone!

You gave some good insight on the beer scene in general. Any good insight on your own personal journey related to developing such a large amount of beer experience?

Oh and the highlights of my beer tour so far have been Original Rare, Isabelle Proximus, and BA Dark Star. Highpoints of the beer experience aren't always about the beer, but those three were above and beyond.

Congratulations! The beer journey is wonderful to all who take it up . I thought for sure I would end up home brewing. But alas I found that food and beer pairing and making bread was more my style. But it's beer that continues to be a wonderful social outlet, a good source of creativity and a motivator to try new things. Here's to 2000 more!

Congrats! I'll be hitting the 2,000 milestone this week (in total ratings; I've slowed greatly on reviews).

May the journey continue and yield so many more great experiences.

Congratulations! I'm getting closer and closer to my first thousand. It's no easy or quick process, so congrats on doubling that!

Well done, sir. I wish I had the energy to rate all the beers I've had. That takes a lot of commitment.

Here's a toast to your next milestone!

I'm only at #305, more than half reviewed in over two years.

I should only hit the 1000 milestone by late 2021. It's a slow pace, but healthier maybe. Cheers to you.

Congratulations. ....I was never much of a beer fan until about 15 years ago. If you would have asked me how many different beers there were I'm not sure I would have guessed as many as 2000....

Ive recently hit #1000. Not reviews but unique beers had and its quite an accomplishment. I dont have the personal patients to do reviews for every single one like that.

Definitely a lot healthier doing what you're doing compared with me, haha. To offset the beers, I tend to run anywhere from 40 to 80 miles a week, and try and get out and hike for several hours at least once every couple weeks. Still, when my mileage is down, or I'm hurt and can't run, I can feel the beers adding up quickly.

    They are by me.
Most memorable for me were PseudoSue, Even More Jesus, Young's Double Chocolate Stout, GL Edmund Fitzgerald, and Rochefort 10. There were all my first examples of their respective styles and really broadened my understanding of what beer could be.

    Congrats on #2000!
