Beer Review Quality

I'm one who likes to read through reviews of beers, sometimes if deciding if I want to purchase a certain beer, but also because I find it to be a good way of educating my own palate. By reading the impressions of others about beers I've had, I start to learn more about the specific flavor profiles and characteristics.

So the more informative and educational a review, the more I like it. Which is not to say that all reviews must be dissertations--if you want to write a short paragraph with basic impressions, that's cool too. All I ask is that people who take the extra step to write a review make them informative and meaningful (I have no problem with 'hads', as they serve a valuable purpose).

I set this all up because I seem to run into reviews like the following far too often. I've edited out the beer name and I'm not going to include the user, because it's not my goal to put any individual on blast:

There is literally nothing of value in this review. It's a pile of attempted-humor bullshit that might be funny in the right context, but as a way of informing about the beer, is worthless.

If people don't want to put the effort into writing reviews, that's fine and one of the reasons we have 'hads'. Heck, my own list of rated beers contains more 'hads' than actual reviews. All I ask is that if someone is going to write a review, they make it worthwhile of taking up space on the page. I've read that there used to be a way to report problematic reviews that has been removed; I understand, because it seems like that type of button would be too often abused by people reporting reviews they disagree with, rather than reporting inappropriate reviews. But I wish there was some way to deal with it.

Does this frustrate anyone else? Or do I just need to crack another beer and move on?
